Looks like Conan O\'Brian wil replace Johnny Carson at the coveted 11:30 late night spot on NBC. Won\'t happen until 2009, but at least there is a light at the end of this 17 year tunnel. God I can\'t stand Leno. Haven\'t watched the darn show but a couple times since Carson signed off when I was in college.

Yes good news indeed, FOX actually offered him more money than what both Leno and Letterman were getting paid a couple years ago but Conan rejected it. Smart move imo, hold out and wait for a reputable network to offer him an 11:30 time slot.

Awesome. This is great for Conan. I too can\'t stand Leno.
I just saw a commercial for the final Last Comic Standing which will feature Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. He goes, "Sorry folks, Conan couldn\'t be here because he still has a shred of dignity."
Conan is definitely the man. If he has a crappy guest, he just turns up the entertainment himself. Not even Letterman is as good as he is at it. Though I do dig his sense of humor.
Stewart is awesome, but I think the Daily Show is right for him. It lets him play off some smart guests. I\'m not sure how he\'d be on his own for an hour interviewing celebrities all the time. For me, the Daily Show is good because of the team effort, not just Stewart.
It kills me that they consistently win Oscars over Letterman and Conan, too, heh.

Conan is one of the funniest people on the planet, IMO. :)

Rove Live is our current popular talk show. Rove McManus, who was a horrible stand-up comedian had a late night show a few years ago which flopped badly because he\'s a douche. Then he changed channels and received some advertising. Then he started ripping off Jay Leno, David Letterman and especially Conan O\'Brien. His first big gimmick was called "What The..?" and was basically the same as "Headlines" from Jay Leno.
HOWEVER, we did recently have a FANTASTIC talk show called Micallef Tonight, which was derived from a TV show called "The Micallef Pogram" and later "The Micallef Programme", which was kind of a fake late night talk show/sketch comedy show. Now the host of this show, Shaun Micallef is possibly the finest mind in comedy today. Though, he\'s probably more along the lines of Frasier Crane than Conan O\'Brien. He\'s extremely pretentious in that every line and movement, etc. has to just just perfect.
However, his show was cancelled after about 6 or so hilarious episodes due to problems with management not giving him creative control (he wanted to put a lot more jokes in..).
