Title: How hot do you run?

I just got done doin\' a small overclock on my AMD 64 and noticed a huge jump in heat. I was runnin\' around 95F, now I am right around 102F (CPU), case tempature is right around 87F. So , just curious on two things.  How hot do you run (overclocked or not) and what kind of cooling solution?

AMD XP 1900+ (not overclocked), I have a GlobalWIN fan, the sink as a copper core.

51.4 C (124.5 F).

The temperature drops quite a lot when the PC has been cleaned, some 5 degrees I have noticed before.
I haven’t cleaned it in a while though, as Im too damn lazy to go crawling around on the floor. :)

I saw an episode of The Screen Savers where they used some type of liquid ether from 3M that had no ill effect on electronics.  They submerged a web-cam in a bowl of the liquid and it continued to work.

I guess you could use this stuff to cool a pc.  It could look like a fish tank with a pc inside.

running a a miniature space heater aka a prescott

idle 50°c and goes up to 60 at load, keep in mind I have an intel stock heatsink and some no name thermal paste.

36c idle   41c Load.

Know the feeling. Using a no named thermal paste and stock heatsink / fan. I picked up an afterstock one, but it was missing parts the day I got it (go figure) , so I went ahead and am using the stock for the time being, at least until I get paid again, at which time I will get a different heatsink / fan and some of that nice Cosair XMS memory.:artyon:

Like I said, its quite dusty in there.. The dust gets caught between the "walls" of the heatsink.. Works as a nice little isolator. :)

I better get on my knees and start.... ops! .. cleaning I mean.

I have designed a special mouthpiece for the vacuum cleaner that makes the cleaning part much easier (it involves a McDonalds straw, some paper and some tape. :p )

EDIT: After having cleaned the heatsink and fan, I have a mesured 43.8C (110.8F), the computer has been turned on for about 30min.

I use a Zalman copper flower and it keeps it really cool.

Case and system temp are around  87
HDD is about 93

This is in fahrenheit (sp?). Sometimes the HDD will spike to about 100 but the other two are pretty consistent no matter what.

for LIC.

This is my current temp, after playing Starwars Battlefront for a hour. (my system is never turned off)

not sure about my hdd. But its always cool to the touch. Doesn\'t get hot.

Btw THX, what type of psu are you using, seems that all the rails are alittle over...

PSU is a 400w Fortron.  I overclock about 600mhz so maybe that affects the rails some?

ahh, yea.. Overclocking tends to do that. :)
