September 29, 2004 - A source close to Electronic Arts told IGN today that Oddworld Stranger, the unusual new action game from Oddworld Inhabitants, will appear on Xbox only in early 2005. There will be no PlayStation 2 version.

I know most don\'t care, but I thought there might be a few who do.

I enjoyed Munch\'s Oddysee quite a bit so I care...

I didn\'t know it was due out so soon, that\'s good to hear.:)

I suppose that the bigwigs at EA know what they\'re doing but one would think that the five extra months would pay off given the PS2 user base is six times that of the Xbox.

Pity most of the games\' potential selling momentum was killed with the latest installment.

As much as I enjoyed the first two, I couldn\'t stand the third.

I wonder if Lorne goes to sleep each night listening to the "developers, developers, developers" speech. <-- Which I just saw for the very first time today. How on earth did he get so sweaty??

I am still trying to understand what was the problem they had with PS2 development of Munch Odyssee since real time footage from the game running was shown and it looked damn good :confused:

Looked almost as good as the XBox version, which is quite good given the fact that it was (originally) a launch PS2 game that was never even completed.

Aliasing was apparently the issue that threw Lorne into a fit. Once Volition discovered how to implement FSAA anti-aliasing hit-free into their games, Oddworld Inhabitants also tried to do it, but had a major performance hit.

But I remember real time videos and images from the game and despite the fact that they had some aliasing it wasnt at all an issue.Actually the game sometimes looked sharper than the XBOX version and better.

WTF?? Munch\'s Oddysee was a PS2 launch title gone Xbox...and now the Stranger game is being made Xbox only? They said that was for PS2 only??? I heard that the Oddworld company broke away from Microsoft...I\'m so confused.

If they haven\'t figured out how to program with the PS2 architecture by now, I truly pity them...

Yeah, I believe they did recently announce that the game would be on both PS2 and XBox..
