Hey, just got Burnout 3 and was wondering if any UK players had the eithernet adapter for network play? Just wondering what the costs are etc, it cant just be £20 for the subscription and everything...can it?

If you have Broadband then its just £20...
But if your with a ISP like AOL or BT and just get a crapy USB modem then you will either need to connect through your PC ...
or Buy a router. got mine for £80 (which means i never have to power up my PC to play my PS2 online).

The cheap way is Internet Connection Sharing,
- Network Adapter = £20-25
- Crossover cable = £5-10
- Network Interface Card (NIC) = £10 If you haven\'t already got one installed in your PC.
This is the setup I\'ve got :D and in November SCEE will be sending out new Central Statin discs with a free game included, which is Hardware Online Arena. :D

From an e-mail Sony sent me,
we will send you a brand new
Network Access Disc. The disc will be sent out in November 2004 and will
contain the action-packed, arcade battle sensation Hardware: Online
Arena - absolutely free!
This could be for two reasons,
1) Central Station will be getting a makeover this November.
or
2) It\'s down to the new PS2 with the built in Network Adapter, which will include the disc in the box, so Sony will be sending the new disc to registered members. And I\'ve heard everybody will be issued with a new PIN number...

Sounds good, thanks! :)
October, be gone already! All the fun games are coming out in Nov-Dec. :(
-
i broke down and got the ethernet adapter 2day, was going to wait till i got paid but what the hell :).
Gonna set it up after i get some uni work done - no doubt i will have problems with port forwarding/AOL/my router :(
-
It\'s saying "Sorry that access code is allready registred on Central Station" !!!!!!!!!!!
What the hell?!
Has somebody stolen an adapter and guessed my number or something?
-
looks like i can play BO3, UK players post ur MSN\'s and we\'ll play, that souns a little strange :)

Its a new version of Central Station
From the Central Station admin
Every account that has had a PIN code entered will have the new disk sent to them for free automatically around the first week of November.
Yes, it\'ll include a new browser giving access to a new Central Station and it\'ll also include the game Hardware: Online Arena for free too. And frankly, its one of the best games you\'ll ever be given for free.

I took it back and they gave me a new one, the access code now works so i should be getting sent that PIN thing at some point...hope i get this free disc thing 2
