The news just broke that a man that made people believe he could fly has just died. While the family has not made an official announcement (one is expected at 6:00 am), Christopher Reeve has passed away.
I don\'t normally do these threads for famous people, but I feel Christopher Reeve was a legend. He not only defined one of the most iconic roles, he also pushed ahead for stem cell research for those that are paralizyed.

DOB: 25 September 1952
Only 18 years old? :( I guess his accident really shortened his life.

comes in threes i guess. Ken Caminitti died too. Not that important to other places but he was pretty big in San Diego. Plus a lot of people felt bad for him as is since he just got arrested so he was on peoples minds even without his death.
(Ex-Padre BTW)
-
Wow, Caminitti was young too. I guess steroids and cocaine does that to you.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:( That really sucks...I admired him greatly.

You are now on my hate list. If you don\'t know who Christopher Reeve is, then you should be ashamed of yourself .

I actually feel bad for his death mainly because of the hope he brought to the parapalegic community.
The dude made outstanding strides and never gave up.
It\'s a shame that he was never able to walk again.

Exactly. I never post in these threads, but I actually felt sad when I heard the breaking news. Not only did he define a role, he also never gave up in the real world. He was a true Superman until the end. He gave hope to those in the parapalegic community. For Christopher , the parapalegic community and many of fans, it was not if he would walk again, it was a matter of when he would walk again. So many people would of given up after his accident, but he didn\'t. Not only did he not give up, he pushed ahead .(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.linkline.com%2Fpersonal%2Fshamburg%2Fdedication.jpg&hash=f33552b5821a5de6c314f3968ac583bdd7893c51)

Damn, what a shame.. Only 52. :(
I have recently started to discover his movies, he was a good actor IMO.
-
faston if you get a chance his best work was a movie back in the 80\'s called Somewhere in Time......
RIP
BTW it really pisses me off to here he died from complication from bed sores... That\'s just BAD Nursing care.
-
Very sad news indeed. R I P "Superman". :(
-
Wow. That is sad. My dad was talking about how it was hard for him to look at him a few days ago because it was just so sad and then a few days later he dies. His mobility was lost to a sad accident and how he too is lost to a sad accident of sorts. Rest in peace

RIP man. He really was a true inspiration. I hope his dreams live on where stem cell research helps out other paralyzed people.

Ken Caminiti was the 3rd, a baseball player, who had a pretty good career.
