Title: Ashley Simpson = 0WN3D
Post by: THX on October 24, 2004, 01:35:00 PM: Anyone catch her last SNL performance last night? Her lip sync tape went way ahead of cue. Words were clearly being sang while her mic was at her hip. So the words quickly went away and slowly came back, I guess they wanted her to keep going because she was dancing around like a foo. But she just walked off the stage.

Dumb band members kept playing anyway and they cut to commercial. At the end when everyone\'s on stage, her excuse: "I\'m sorry my band played the wrong song so blah blah blah...."

I just hope NBC doesn\'t edit this out for future broadcasts. :laughing:

She looked back at the drummer when he started playing the beat, that\'s what makes me think they played the wrong tune.

They did mess up though.

Silly pop stars. She didnt have to walk off though. She could have just redeemed herself by singing the damn song w/o the back up words. The band fixed up and she still walked off. Im not sure if she was planning on lip synching though. A lot of people sing with the lyrics in the background. I guess the only reason why this doesnt seem true is because it was up so loud.

I doubt the mic was even on. But im glad it happened to someone. Just prefer it would happen to britney spears cuz she ticks me off the most when it comes to lipsincing.

You can hear it in the track. It starts off with her live mic over the recorded track and by the 2nd line you can hear it fade out.

Well the second time the band came out they started playing another song and the same lyrics came out for that Pieces of Pooh song again.

THen she walked off rather than just stopping the band and starting fresh with a live mic.

Did any of you guys see the filler piece SNL used? SOme stupid ass skit with everyone wearing bear costumes?

You know they were scrambling big time to try and fill that extra 2 minutes of air time.

But vocals are always enhanced. The artist will never sound exactly like the cd. The vocals have to be enhanced for quality purposes.

Can she sing? Yes, and only sometimes. I\'ve only seen a few concerts on her MTV show, one of them happened to be at a school for sick children and it was just her and an acoustic guitar player and she sounded great that day.

Her performance at the RMA\'s was awful, imo.

A good rule of thumb is a band has talent if they are great live. Despite all the made for MTV bands there are still some decent musicians out there.

I\'ve actually seen some good bands play on SNL, and they sure as fudge weren\'t lip-synching.

Maynard from APC and Tool - sounds DEAD on live. Seen APC perform twice and they really do sound like their albums, prehaps even better.

Her problem is that she thinks she has a powerful singing voice and that\'s far from the truth. She sounds best when she\'s relaxed and not straining her voice.

She was trying WAY too hard at the RMA\'s, it was so bad.

She\'s just selling an image; the averge chick making it big as a pop star ("Pieces of Me," "My Autobiography" etc..). My sister loves her but acknowledges her voice is atrocious. She just likes to sing along.

He sounds SO much better than on CD and you know. I couldn\'t listen to their CD\'s for weeks after the concert.

Yes, every time I go see them I crap my pants. Some bands are just like that.

I remember when I was like 10 I went to see Stabbing Westward and watched them play "Can\'t Happen Here" and "Red On White"...holy f*ck!! That was the coolest damn thing I\'ve ever seen. The singer\'s vocals weren\'t up to snuff until like...6 or so years later...but that didn\'t even matter...the music just made me melt...it was an awesome concert <----- forgive me if nobody knows who the hell I\'m talking about...
