http://www22.verizon.com/FiosForHome/channels/Fios/HighSpeedInternetForHome.asp?promotion_code=&variant=
Two options:
1) 5mb down/ 2mb up for $39.95
2) 15mb down/ 2mb upload for $49.95
Finally we get some decent speeds. Hopefully this\'ll push the cable companies to increase their\'s! If it\'s available in anyone\'s city please let us know, not available here (big surprise).
-
Whaaaaaat? No way. Are these just laybeled speeds or are these the speeds you actually get? If so then i have to check because this is just nuts. T1 anybody? I dont know how fast T3 is but who would bother with it, when you can pay this for almost the same speed.
BTW: How are you connected with this?
-
whats the technology behind this
verizon doesnt say
cable, phone, fiber, wireless?
-
Hmm. I\'ve been on verizon for a long long time. I\'ll have to check it out.
EDIT:
It says I need to give them a call to find out. I\'ll call tomorrow.
-
I\'m pretty sure it\'s fiber (Fios = Fiber), and it says you have to have your house wired for CAT5.
-
sound goods, but i don\'t like the price. Hopefully they bring the cost down to compete with DSL and Cable, who knows by doing this, DSL and Cable have to cut down the price tag of their $30 per month...
-
If you tyhink $30 a month is to much for highspeed internet you are..
(1) A crack head.
(2) A cheap bastard.
(3) Need a job..You lazy bum.
(4) Or living in the stone age when a soda use to cost a nickle and a piece of bubble gum was a penny.
-
I pay $44 per month for Comcast hi-speed. I think it\'s 65 without cable service.
I could not live without cable modem because I use the web for so many things. my 56k aol use to be around 25 bucks. As long as the price does not go up on comcast I won\'t complain.

LIC sucked my dick.:eyemouth:
I paid $10 for 56k per month, you may be right about me being cheap. I am poor too. Its not like everybody in this forum uses DSL/Cable and other hi speed connections.
-
I pay 29 bucks now for DSL. Speeds not up to cable, but still very good. This is intriguing though. We don\'t have fiber to our door though here. I doubt if I am in the ball game.
I do know that Verizon is putting fiber to the door in Tampa big time. They are trying to get into the TV delivery as well. Geeze. What a power house. Land line, Cell Phone, INternet, and TV. THey could freaking own you.
-
t1 is 1.544Mbps
t3 is 45 Mbps (expect to pay around 5k$ or more/month)
and an OC48 connection at 2488 Mbps?
80k$/month (does not include equpment cost. cant plug this into your D-link home router ya know)
-
I don\'t see how anyone uses 56k these days. Man thats like driving a car with no powersteering:crap:
-
more like driving a car with a weedwacker engine
-
I\'ll be more than happy if Verizon can crush the cable companies. I hate Comcast with a passion.

I called and the people are completely clueless there about it. I do know that it isn\'t available in Tampa though.
-
I have nothing against users of 56K.
If you\'re online for an hour or more a day, though.. believe me.. you really should be putting up the extra cash for broadband. It changes everything.
-
Provided you cant get broadband, some of us can\'t.
Namely, ME.
I would easily pay $80 a month for a good connection.

I know, but when you do it always baffles me. Why? Not entirely sure but for somebody that is so into computers, it just seems that you would be up to date my friend. Not that im poking fun at your shitty connection :p .

I have CableOne cable modem...it\'s 3Mbps @ $40/month...the best price I\'ve ever paid for a connection...so I\'m happy :D Used to pay $50 for 800Kbps <---- this sucks now (this was Verizon...apparently they pulled their head from their @ss).
Plus um...you can modify your cable box to increase your...*not finishing sentence...runs away*

It isn\'t that I can\'t afford broadband or that I don\'t want it, it\'s a matter of I can\'t get it. I can\'t get Cable or DSL, the only thing I can get is sattelite and it sucks the big one, I should know, I was one of the early adopters of it.
-
^^^^^
Do you live in one of those crappy areas where you can\'t get anything? I lived in one of those for years...it sucked. I fixed that by moving ;) You should try it!! j/k I feel your pain L-I-C...

Yeah. They know almost nothing about this.
