So as we can see after this election, the \'right\'(and some lefties too) keep saying how the \'extreme left\' has control of the democratic party, and the moderates must regain control, yadda yadda... yadda yadda.
So, if this will have any real impact, I\'m not sure. But I\'m thinking it might.... If the Democrats feel pressure and want to regain power, they might move over further on the conservitive side of things, especially socially.
If this happens, I think they will end up losing a large section of their base. And if that happens, We could see an eventual divide in the Demmy party with the moderates pushing further right, and the liberals running off to a third party.
Maybe it won\'t be that large, but who knows. But one thing is for sure, their are the Democrats who will stick to the right to gain power, and their are the Democrats who are far left. So I guess we will just wait and see.

The far leftwing faction of the DNC is tiny compared to the moderate members of the DNC. The problem with the DNC is they let these left wing fanatics who want to impose their socialist ideals on America take over their party. Michael Moore, George Soros, Moveon.org and other Hollywood celebs have done nothing but alienate the moderate majority of the DNC. They have also let special interest groups within the party who conflict with each other get on the platform. Kerry tried to juggle them as best he could, but often came across as contradicting himself.
The GOP on the other hand did a great balancing act by not alienating moderate Republicans by keeping religion low key throughout the whole campaign, but at the same time taking positions on certain issues that concern the religious right of hte party.
America wants moderation and the DNC hasn\'t caught on to that idea.

I disagree. If the Demmys go any further right on social issues, a large portion of their base will be upset. The Civil Rights activists most of all.... I think that is a pretty large group.

Impose what Ideas? The Democrats are pussy moderates, I don\'t see any radical ideas on kerrys platform.
-
Did I say Kerry had radical ideas? This isn\'t about Kerry - I even said it before the election - I didn\'t hate Kerry, but rather those (see the names above) that supported him. The DNC by embracing all the people and organizations I mentioned above has alienated them from the mainstream Democrats and moderate Republicans.
The DNC needs to do itself a favor and keep the Michael Moore and George Soros types as far away from their convention and platforms as possible.
-
Seriously, even if a dem I like such as Barack Obama ran for president I\'d be hesitant in voting for him if Michael Moore was riding his jock like he did Kerry\'s (as most republicans would). SHUT MOORE UP, he hurts the DNC.
And btw did you check out his site? He has 17 reasons why you "shouldn\'t slit your wrists." The reasons sound like they were written by an angry child.
3. The only age group in which the majority voted for Kerry was young adults (Kerry: 54%, Bush: 44%), proving once again that your parents are always wrong and you should never listen to them.
-
Yeah I saw his site... he really is pathetic. That list and the list of the our KIA soldiers... talk about exploiting our fallen... he is disgusting... and you are right on THX about his writing style... he sounds like a little kid even when he talks.

DNC, GOP, blah blah blah. Its hard to unite a ****ing country and stand against opposing forces when we openly separate ourselves with this bullshit. "Gaining power" over office/the government? Who the hell cares as long as we appoint a good leader etc?
-
I thought Clinton was alright. I saw a video with Obama and I love the guy. If the DNC comes up with a frontman that seems genuine and not a douche like Kerry they can win it (and I won\'t mind to be honest).
When I think of Kerry I think of that shifty guy in the debates who when was asked "What do you think is wrong with the current administation?" He responded, while chuckling, "Well where do I start?" I can\'t see Obama or even Clinton being like that.

I went to an Obama rally a couple of blocks from my house at the local armory and he was great. Funny guy too. Hope he goes far.

Future and Democratic party shouldn\'t be in the same sentence together.

Now how did I know that you would say something smart-ass related to the title of the thread? ;)
The way I see it is this -- the Republican Party has a TREMENDOUS opportunity to make some true progress these next four years. It\'ll be up to them to take a moderate approach for the good of the nation, or to feed their for their own interests, and their own ego\'s.
See Yuz.

When a minority leader gets voted out of the senate there are severe problems.

Yes, because conservatives have been at the forefront of every significant cultural advancement in history.
Oh wait.....I\'m wrong. Conservatives have been on the wrong side of just about every significant discussion since the beginning of time. If conservatives had their way we would still be a british colony, slavery would still be legal, and all globes would be flat. SUCCESS!!!

If Democrats want to be successful they need to dumb down their campaigns (http://chrisevans3d.com/files/iq.htm).

I just had a discussion about this with a friend. The funny part is, it means nothing. A lot of states were close calls. Also, these are just that, averages. No way to tell how the votes went. Ride it out but this is really weak bs.
I\'m glad you\'re using that "high IQ" to put together useless generalizations and weak arguements altogether. Another person could have taken this and put together something but you just insult.
-
^This coming from somebody with an IQ of 99 . :p.^
I dont know if he was serious or if those numbers are even correct (though i wouldnt be completely surprised if they were - yet another generalization:p) but we all know that black sam isnt dumb and can put up a fairly good argument.
Chillout.

I\'m chilled, and I have respect for Sam. I\'m not sure on his tone with the post but either way I said what I said. It\'s not that big of a deal.
