This guy lives very close to me, on the way to my friend\'s house actually.  So thought I\'d post it up in hurr.

I didn\'t read the whole thread, but DAMN.  That\'s a scary problem to have when you throttle gets stuck.  Wouldn\'t it be pretty automatic to put both feet in, and put the transmission in neutral when that happens?  Clutch in, foot hard on the brake, ABS kicking in, that should be enough to bring you to a stop.

I don\'t quite get it.

Panache.....that ain\'t his first time screwin up his car. In another post, he claims he was going about 12mph when his turbo kicked just as he drove over a puddle and went sideways into a parked car.

Or your accelerator can stick and goes faster and you can\'t do anything about it.

Dude, did you read the thread? His accelerator stuck. It happens. There really was nothing he could do to unstick it, especially when he panicked.

Yeah there is. Hit teh brakes. The brakes are strong enough to overcome third gear. Or hit the clutch to dis-engage it.

Throttle gets stuck = Put clutch in for neutral, hit brakes. Motor should be over revving so just TURN IT OFF. If the throttle got stuck then talk to Subaru about it.
