Title: Ah, the joy of camera ownership
Post by: videoholic on November 18, 2004, 11:20:54 AM
Got my digital rebel in.  Time to play.

Had to test it out. I\'ve taken 4 pitcures so far.  I really don\'t care for the lens much that comes with it.  I\'ll be hitting the pavement for a new lens hopefully not before long.

This 18-55 with no macro realy isn\'t good for a whole lot other than generic family photos and landscapes.

It\'ll get me by for a while though.

We need to have a photo contest soon.

I believe you can hack to Digital Rebel to restore some of the firmwear features that were crippled to make it less competitive with the the 10D.  Have you looked into that?  I guess it would void your warranty, but some of the missing features are really useful.

Nice pic!  I wanna get a decent camera so bad but I like my wimpy Canon A300 for the time being.  Here\'s some shots of Central Park:

Canon G5:

[EDIT]
Forget it.  The s2ki servers will not host images without scaling them anymore.  I\'ll see if I can figure it out and repost them.

As long as it\'s 700kb and under...it\'ll display it just fine...and EXACTLY as it should :)

One thing I noticed in the short time I\'ve played with it is that they aren\'t using a 4x3 chip.  It\'s wider.  I guess to match photo sizes.
