Title: BANDS you wish stayed together
Post by: Joker on December 01, 2004, 01:38:27 AM
for me i\'d have to say Rage Against The Machine. How I miss the combo of Brad, Tim, Tom, and Zach...

I was quite dissapointed with Audioslave but i\'m awaiting to see there 2nd album and hope they\'ll bring to the tabel what I crave.

But I was quite pleased with Zach De La Roach\'s (sp?) solo album.

any bands you guys wished stayed together, or were still around?

Pantera had an album or two left in them.

And I wish Alice in Chains were still doing music, but understandable since Layne died.

how cool would it be though if they did music with Staley\'s vocals from beyond the grave.

Ride. I thought if they took a couple years off, they could have been great again. Then Andy Bell started playing bass for those wankers Oasis. Blech.

Soundtrack of our lives was good too.... then Bjorn Olssen put out some stuff that sounds like spaghetti western music. (not that it\'s bad...)

Wasn\'t the shot to the stomach, though? Which made his death in some way, questionable.

I think Courtney Love did it...that b^tch!!

Rage Against the Machine (Audioslave sucks)
Stabbing Westward
The Difference - my friend\'s band, they were way more than good enough to become famous, they almost had a contract signed, but then broke up to go to college. Idiots...:(

Stabbing Westward - Last self titled album was crap. If that is the way the band was goin\', I am glad they broke up.

Christopher Hall from Stabbing Westward (the singer and the writer of basically all the songs) has made a new band called The Dreaming...

They haven\'t finished their album yet, but I bought their 4 track EP demo, and it sounds pretty good. They said he\'s going to revert back to some of the dark style they started out with, but not TOO dark.

They have a webpage:  http://www.thedreamingonline.com/

And yes, I agree...their last album sucked ass, but that\'s not the kind of music Chris wanted to do, he thought it was teh ghey, and they lost rights to their band name over teh ghey settlement issues. F^ckers...

I saw them in LA, and they play old school SW stuff :p They rock live...

Rage Against the Machine

*Deam ones*
Metallica- Cliff, James, Kirk, Lars. Jason was cool but Cliff was a god. Plus i hate the new bassist for some reason. And mustang can stay over in megadeth (i only like countdown to extinction and the newest one).

Nirvana

But the main one is At the Gates. Theres The Haunted but i havnt gotten into them. At the Gates is the best thrash metal band IMO.

Bush-They had so many hits but still didnt get the respect they disserved. Alot of it had to do with the fact that they sounded almost exactly like Nirvana but you were just getting 2 of a good thing imo.

Smashing Pumpkins-Love their music, disarm is one of my favorite songs ever. Also one of the funnest to play on guitar.

Pearl Jam-Not sure if they broke up but Im pretty confident they have. Who didnt like Pearl Jam? What a great band.

PJ is still together PSX_J

I luv em :D

The reason you don\'t hear from them tho is cause they don\'t care for the media so they very rarely give interviews or what not.

IMO there the best touring band out there.

I never would have guessed it listening to Audioslave then Rage or visa versa. Audioslave is much more subtle than Rage was. Both good bands IMO though :)

Kurt Cobain was shot in the head. Previously he had tried to committ suicide by combining pills and alcohol. It is almost positivie that the shot to the head was self inflicted.

Know your influential indie-rock stars! :)

Speaking of Indie I wish these bands hadn\'t broken up:

Pavement
The Velvet Underground
The Replacements

Some bands need to break up though, when they stick around for too long, they just start to get old and suck *cough cough* U2 *cough cough* REM.

Where exactly in the head was Kurt Cobain shot? He still could have been killed by Courtney Love.

There\'s a book out on the whole situation, and how some believe Courtney Love did it, and new surfaced information and whatnot. I still think she\'s a stupid whore for selling his personal notes, even though he specifically asked her not too. Hell, it even says in the book that he didn\'t want it published
