Title: Firefox on Crack (network patch)
Post by: THX on December 09, 2004, 06:56:36 PM
So the latest net buzz is you can enable pipelining in Firefox which basically pulls the page you\'re going to from more servers than just 4.  Loading up data heavy pages is noticeably faster.  Try it out:

Extension (http://www.bitstorm.org/extensions/)
Anandtech thread (http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.aspx?catid=33&threadid=1451878&enterthread=y)

I used the Tweak Network extension and just copied the values from the screenshot he provides.  Go to Tools > Tweak Network Settings to configure it.

basically it floads websites with multiple ips from users that want more bandwidth.. nice idea, would really piss off web-admins.

Yeah...it\'s pretty freakin\' spectacular ;) Works the same as a download accelerator. Works well with a 3MB/sec LAN line :D

And yes, screw the Admins for not giving good load times to begin with...
