I had a new head unit installed there yesterday. I picked out the Alpine CDA-9831. Its a sweet unit which is why I picked it out. Well, me and my dad drop my car off and we picked it up a couple hours later. I didn\'t know my way home so I had to follow him. After I pulled out, I realized that the speakers on the left side don\'t work. So I called them up told them the situation and they told me to bring it in. My dad called them up a couple minutes later and completely gave them hell. Now I\'m top priority when I get in there instead of waiting again for them to get to my car. They also busted the factory radio that was already in my car. They couldn\'t get it out so I gave them the go ahead to bust it. But not only do my speakers don\'t work, but the left speakers make this whining noise when I accelerate. What the hell did they do to my car?

I have never had any problems with Circuit City in my area. To me it sounds like the guys who put your stereo in were inexperienced. Circuit City\'s customer service is outstanding in my opinion - complain enough and you might get something for free. ;)

Maybe I can get them to knock a hundred bucks off my total since they broke my old radio. And the kids that installed my radio were either my age or in community college.

why didn\'t you just install it yourself? I just put a new JVC head unit in my wife\'s car. Took all of 1 hour to do. You just have to make sure you buy the right installation kit and wiring harness.
But that sucks man, i\'ve never had problems with Circuit city before either.

The whine in your car is the electricity from your spark plugs and electrical system. You needed to install a pad in the power line to clean that out.
I think.
Good installers work at custom shops. Not circuit shitty.

video is right. your getting static from the motor and thats causing the whine, you need to get a filter and it will go away.
You should have done it yourself though, its seriously not that hard & I\'m sure you bought an extended warranty with it.. I just installed my DEH-P7600 unit, 6x9\'s, and 4x8\'s and they sound craptastic!

Remember...this is Christmas time....CC and BB (Best Buy) hire a lot of newbies for the onslaught of customers. Also, even experienced installers will slack off on the Holidays.
Here\'s my advice : never to buy cars manufactured between Thanksgiving and New Year\'s coz of the amount of slackers that build cars. Never get stuff installed around the Holidays coz they are rushing to get as many done as possible and will do sloppy work.

Yeah Circuit Shitty does suck. You should\'ve installed it yourself though, its pretty easy and you\'ll benefit from it in the future. People ask me to install their speakers/cd players all the time now and they pay me too.
-
I would have installed it myself but there are a couple problems. I\'m not familiar with car wiring yet and can\'t install it myself, the installation was free and all I had to pay for was the wiring harness and the Ford adapter which would have costed me a pretty penny anyway. So I decided to just get it installed by them.
BTW, where do I get that thing that gets rid of the whine in the speakers? How much does it cost?

I havent bought anything from those bastards since I threw a vcr at the manager (about 10 years ago)

Sell the Ford. :)
-
The guy from circuit shitty better know exactly how to fix it for you.
-
Don\'t buy from Circuit Shitty. 96% of their political contributions went to Republicans. :)

a filter will help the noise, but it\'s most likely because they used cheaply insulated wires, because you\'re getting alternator noise.

I love my car. I have no intentions on selling it.

Finally its over. After them dicking me around, I finally got it fixed today. It was a bad wiring harness. Its done and I\'m happy with the results.
