I\'m asking becuase this guy told me today that winxp crashes with anything over 1.5 I think he is wrong he even said there was a whitepaper on it. Im think most gamers have close two 2 but how much do you have?
-
"the guy" is full of crap
running 2GB right now
-
I\'m using 256!!!!
-
running dual 512 Mbytes DDR SDRAM P400 and P333.
-
1.5
-
1 gig. Anymore is useless unless you\'re doing very damanding shit. Running more then 1.5 gig won\'t crash XP. I\'ve got mates that are running 3+ gig without problems.
-
512 of PC3200
-
512 here.
-
He is wrong, I know someone running WIN XP with 3 gigs.
-
2 Gb PC4000 Corsair twinx. No problems here.
-
1GB PC 3200
-
1 GIG PC 3200 (2x512) Dual channel
-
512 here
-
I am halfway between 512 and 1 Gig, but I clicked 512.
-
512 mb here. Wouldn\'t mind 1024, but it was just too expensive when I got it. I guess I could add some now, but I\'m too lazy. Besides, it runs ok. :)
-
1GB, had problems with dual channel activated.
-
Question.
where would one go to check his ram?
-
......

Its a company computer (as in, bought via a company), and yes it will be expensive if I want to upgrade it anymore. But I think 1GB is enough right now (though, does XP use up more memory once SP2 has been installed My old comp (SP1) would use 190MB once it had started, this one uses aroung 250!) :)
Its a P4 3.4GHz, Im loving the Hyper threading stuff, I can Alt+Tab between Far Cry and launch a IE window without almost any delay, my old comp would hyperventilate, have a heart attack and be pronounced brain dead at the hospital. :p

1 gig of pc 4400. May add a matching gig in a few weeks. Undecided at this moment.
-
4x 256 RDRAM = 1024 :)
-
384MB
2.08 GHz
