currently reading the book which is amazing so far
anyone know if the movie is any good?
-
I thought the movie was a little on the boring side
-
decent
-
I stopped reading the book about a 1/4 of the way through. it seemed to take waaaay too long to get off the ground.
I liked the bit about the fags though, it was funny.
-
It has just about some of the worst acting I\'ve ever seen in my entire life. The movie will make you dumber. It\'s incredibly boring and stupid. The book is MUCH MUCH MUCH better ;) Stick with the book. The movie will ruin it...
Stephen King makes WAY too many homoerotic, descriptive references in "IT." The dude is a freak...
-
any book is better then the movie, simply because the read imagines their own world. Of course the movie doesn\'t live up to that world.
Although i saw it when i was something like 10. So i thought it was cool then.
-
Stephen King is a bit hit and miss IMO. I don\'t like all his books, don\'t think I\'ve read IT though. The movie was pretty cool when I was younger. The clown was just nasty. :)
-
Hmm... I enjoyed the movie back then. Ok, production values weren\'t stellar and the acting wasn\'t super, but not that bad either imo.
The clown was truely creepy though. Beep beep Ritchie ! :clown:

the movie has it moments
tim curry saying "everything floats down here" has to be the creepiest movie scene ever.
-
Hell, any scene in any movie with Tim Curry is creepy.
-
hehe so far (including you guys) every person I asked about the movie said it was very scary when they were young kids.
the ones who have seen it when they entered adult hood tend to not like it as much.
The books been very intresting so far.
*BOOK SPOILERS*
Currently at the part where Mike Hanlon is visitng his dad in the hospital and being told the story of the fire at the black spot.

I watched it when I was a kid and it scared the crap out of me, i thought it was quite a good movie, but no movie will ever compare to the book.
I remember reading a dean koontz book and they made a movie out of it with ben afleck "no it wasnt intensity" the movie was such a disappointment.
-
Tim Curry as IT kicked ass, the movie was decent until the end which ruined it [sp]when IT became some Spider instead of a clown[/sp]
-
I thought it was ok when I saw it, nowt special though

I\'ve read the book and seen the movie. I\'m starting to think that making a movie based on a book is pointless, except for the people who haven\'t read the book. No director\'s interpretation can ever compare to the things we picture in our mind while we read a book. Especially a 1000+ page book like IT or The Stand.
If you want to enjoy either of those two movies, watch them, then read the book. It\'s always more fun to get the extra stuff in the book, than to see the movie and find out what the screenplay left out. And it\'s not uncommon at all for the ending to be completely different.
IT and The Stand - Great books. Mediochre movies. (not to mention they were made for TV and can\'t even say shit)
-
"Shawshank Redemption" and "Stand By Me" (in the book, it was called "The Body") were great movies from King\'s compilation of stories called "Four Seasons". That book also had "The Apt Pupil" which also became a movie....but sorta flunked badly.

this is why I stay away from harry potter books, a bunch of people I know have read the books and watched the movie, they were all issed lol "they leave so much out!" Hell i think there all good seeing as how I haven\'t read any of the book and dont plan to. They make movies from book for people like me that are to lazy to read.
