Yep. My left rib cage is borked. My wife hit a car yesterday. Luckily we both had our seat belts on. I think my ribs got borked by the seat belt as I was flung forward like a crash test dummy.
Infortunately, I am still alive and I will be around to pester you all forever. My wife is fine. No problems for her coz she was able to brace herself on impact. I, however, was fiddling with the iPod and had no idea we were about to hit another car.
She had rented a Dodge Neon. Damn those cars are flimsy pieces of shit. The impact was maybe 15pmh and the front end was pushed in like mm\'s anus lips in jail. Luckily, she paid the $10 deductable waver so she didn\'t have to pay a penny to the rental agency. Geico will just increase our premium, though. Damn.
At least she\'s okay. The other person that we hit is fine too.
My ribs hurt whenever I sneeze, breath too deeply, roll over in bed, sit up in bed, force a fart, take a dump and when I reach up or pull anything.

Glad to hear you\'re (somewhat) ok. And the wifey too.
Damn there\'s been a lot of accidents happening here lately... perhaps it\'s a PSX2C curse.... *cue scary music*

Thanks. Doc says there\'s nothing else to do with borked ribs since the bones are already set. Says to just deal with the pain, since I turned down the prescription for pain killers. It\'s only a hair line fracture. I\'m a wuss and I hate pain.
Ouch. Hurts when I laugh, too.
-
lets make him laugh and hurt..
(Family Guy)
Chris: Dad, what would you say if I told I didn\'t want to be in the Scouts?
Peter: I\'d say, \'Come again?\' and I\'d laugh as I said, \'Come.\'
Peter: Wow, it\'s like I\'ve died and went to heaven. But then they realized it wasn\'t my time yet. So they sent me to a brewery.
Anyway..glad you\'re ok.

Thank goodness no major damage to your body. You only have one of those.
Give us the details on why she hit the other person. Was it half her fault, all her fault or what?
-
There were women involved. \'Nuff said. ;)

Let\'s hope nobody else has any mishaps being so close to chrismas and all. :sconf:
this will cheer you up Gman ;)

Too bad luckee isn\'t here to read that.
What\'s cool is you should be able to get unlimited blow jobs for at least a month since she made you the way you are.
So you have that going for you.
Which is nice.

The road was curving to the right, there was an intersection ahead. Cars were stopped at a red light. She looked away for a second and wasn\'t able to stop in time. BANG!
Funny thing though. I had no idea my ribs were borked until a few hours later when I sneezed. Doc said that\'s normal for pain not to show up until much later for minor injuries. We were just a mile from returning that rental. Her BMW was brought in for minor repairs cos the seats weren\'t adjusting at all hence why we had a rental til the repairs were finished.
On the way home, I drove her car and ran over a rabbit. She said "WATCH OUT!" I don\'t swerve away from animals in the highway. So all I heard was a "splash" in the wheel well of her BMW.
Blood and guts all over the right front wheel well with streaks of blood leading to the door. Looked so damn wicked. Even in winter, there are flies and it\'s all over it.

2 near misses coming up to christmas, lets hope things like this don\'t come in threes.
Once again, glad to hear the forums won\'t be minus 1 member for christmas

Why did you turn down the perscription?

You had to pay for a rental car? I get a car free for the day just getting my oil changed at our BMW dealership.
-
Ya know...I don\'t know for sure if she paid for the rental. The $10 deductable waver, she did pay for.
-
I hope you\'ll be okay in the long run, Joe. :gman:
-
Glad to hear you aren\'t seriously hurt for a while.

Just for getting your oil changed? Wow. *shakes head*
Anyway
How does that feel gman? Ive never "borked" a rib before.
-
Sure they do. And they try to give you nicer cars than the one you have or the same car. That way you can see what the new cars drive like. Although the past two times we got 323s which are pretty darn slow.
-
I\'ve had borken ribs twice. Hurts like hell. It seems to get worse before it gets better, too. The first time, I did it snowboarding, broke 3 ribs, rode an hour home in the back of a Blazer, and since we were having a blizzard, I had to shovel 12 apartment complexes the next day. 9 hours heavy, wet snow knee deep. My boss at the time wouldn\'t believe that I was hurt, so he said I was fired if I didn\'t show up. Ach.
It\'s weird, but that shit will still be burning 2 months from now.
-
Yeah, it hurtsa little more than yesterday.

General tightness and discomfort on the ribs at first. Feels like a pulled muscle. THe next day, you can really feel where it hurts. It\'s not the muscle, it\'s the bone. Feels like someone had punched you and the pain doesn\'t go away. Today, it hurts bad. I have to sleep sitting up so I don\'t roll over.
But if you looked at me, I look normal. I can do most things except pull things, tie my shoe (or anything that causes movement on the rib cage).

glad to hear you and the wifey are ok gman...still able to tell jokes in the face of danger eh?..;)

Thank you Sam...I almost hit a car once though...thats not helping the womens side much, help me out women. *searches for women* Nevermind, closest thing to a woman here is Omen and he doesn\'t count. People say women are worse drivers than men, and I am starting to agree. My mom scares me to death when she drives...
-
Statistically, men [younger age] are the cause of MANY more accidents than women. That\'s a misconception.
BUT...:( :( :(...I\'m really sorry to hear about your horrid car adventures Gman. The good thing is, you\'re alive. Just last week sometime at nite, some 16 year old kid hit this old man about 200 feet from my doorstep and killed the man on impact. The kid wasn\'t drunk, high, or anything, and there were no bad weather conditions. He just...wasn\'t paying attention.
It\'s really depressing that these things happen all the time. There\'s even this place where I live in my city called "Blood ALley" because someone dies on that street every single day. THE PEOPLE HERE SUCK AT DRIVING!! But again...it\'s good that you\'re ok...
The moral of the story is...Dodge sucks ;)

See DeAnna, at least one woman helped you out. :p

Personally, a woman that can drive really good or just drive stick is a turn on for me. You guys are gay.
-
I got rear-ended 2 weeks ago by a woman who tailgated me for 2 miles. She lasted two intersections before she hit me. I was going 35 mph in the city, and I couldn\'t see her headlights behind me, she was so close. I kept saying, "this bitch is gonna hit me!". Sure enough...BAM! I said, "what the f*ck is wrong with you?!? You tailgated me since Hertel Ave!" Her response:
"I\'m sorry, I was in a hurry to get home, and wasn\'t paying attention..."
All this happened with a cop directly behind her.
All\'s well that ends well, she coughed up the $650 and my Blazer is fixed....
I saw a chick cradling a celly on her shoulder, no seat belt, putting on makeup while driving to work today.
-
Statistally, women don\'t get INTO accidents as much as men....but I think they cause more accidents then men do. And there\'s no way to measure that since they left the scene or don\'t even know what they did.

Girls that drive stick and like it are sexy.... that is if they arent hideous. Then they are just good friends :p.
Supposedly women have better peripheral vision while men have better depth of field perception. Whether that makes much of a difference in driving or not, i dont know since both are used.
In terms of driving poorly id say its kind of a mixed bag. Women dont drive as well but they are more timid and thats one reason why they get into less accidents i guess. Everytime my mother gets into a situation with a bad driver she always reffers to them as "she." *shrugs*

i feel ya chizz...i\'ve had scenario\'s where drivers in general tend to think that if i\'m on the highway and following another car and i leave some space between myself and the car mentioned, they think that small opening is big enough for them to squeeze in...i hate when drivers do that s**t.....s**t is even more crazy in the rain or snow....
