I got an Asus K8N Mobo for Christmas and have 2 Maxtor 120 GB Drives. I figured out how to set up the Raid array in the bios, but am having a hell of a time getting it to install windows xp. Do I hit F6 to install the Raid Driver? I have tried with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

you should have got a driver CD with your MOBO. the sata/raid driver should be on there.

RTFM!

Yeah I found it. Damn Asus. Talk about hidden. The driver or MakeF6Disk folder is not explained anywhere in the docs or online. Also it is buried under 6 subfolders somewhere where no one would even think about looking for it. I found my answer not on the Asus forums or in the manual, but in newegg\'s feedback. Yeah mm I read the damn manual.

I seem to recall havin the same experience with an Asus board. Capcom could explain better, I know I helped him build a server with dual Opertons running an ASUS board and SATA RAID and I do recall us having issues with the documentation on SATA RAID.

I had the exact same problem, with the exact same MoBo.

Now the joy of reinstalling everything. After getting around the raid problem and the subsequent "nvraidservice error" when I installed my Creative drivers everything seems to be good. One thing though, these Maxtor HD\'s are a lot more noisy than the Western Digitals I am used to.
