I checked out the guys on the top of this list. See pretty darn cheap, but I have no clue.

Haven\'t done any of this in about 7 years. Any tips?

Domain registration: http://www.godaddy.com
Web Hosting: http://www.surfspeedy.com
If you can find a better price than $6.95/mo for 2gb storage/65gb bandwidth let us know.

Is it ok to just go for cheap? How do I know if they are legit and speedy?
I need to host video so I don\'t want it to be wimpy.

I use it for my homepage. They\'re almost never down, the reason I switched to them from my previous host.
If it\'s video you want you\'re going to need tons of bandwidth, well depending on how many people will be downloading. They have several plans, probably the best prices you\'ll find too. Service is good imo. They have a live chat support thingy which was helpful for me a couple of times.
oh and as for speed they max out my comcast connection at around 375kbps.

catalog.com for web hosting and domain regs

Well I won\'t need a ton of band width at first. I just want to show people clips if they want to see clips. No big whoop. Now if I get raped and linked then I will get screwed, but otherwise it will be a small site not traveled by many.

Hehehe. Yeah, I know. I gots to look around too though. I need to get the domain names so I need to know where to get that.
Why are some places 5 bucks and NETSOL is 30?
-
Just go with GoDaddy. They\'ve been rated very highly over the years. The reason why you don\'t want to have both services at the same place (domain reg & hosting) is because if they turn out to be a lousy host they still have your domain name, so switching from one service to the next kinda sucks.

good advice.

I have had 30-40 domain names regisistered at godaddy for about 3 years never once had a problem deifnalty my choice...
