Title: Completion Progress
Post by: Eiksirf on January 10, 2005, 09:34:30 AM
Just curious if anyone still plays or is getting everything.

I wasn\'t going to, but over the weekend I got all the horseshoes and tags. I have one more storyline mission to finish and like 16 Ballas territories left.

I haven\'t tried for all golds and stuff. Most of the side missions like the dozer and carrier missions I haven\'t touched, either.

There\'s a lot to do, more than I thought at first.

Got bored of the ps2 version. After playing the others on PC, i just can\'t stand the ps2 version. I gave it a few days of playing and still hated it.  I\'ll wait till it comes out on pc.

I have got all the tags but still need a few horseshoes/oysters.  I finished the story missions weeks ago. Still play it though drive round etc, running people down and finding unique jumps etc.

Has anyone beaten the Triathalon? I saw the little red mission marker as I was falling off a cliff on my BMX and I walked over to it not knowing that it was a long ass race.

Needless to say I got my ass whooped.

I lost out in the triathalon literally by a hairs breadth. I overtook the leader just about to cross the finish and he re passed me again. :(

No, I can cream them in the swimming & cycling bit, but they always kill me in the running bit at the end.

I got 90.9% completed, still got heaps of horse shoes, oysters, ambulance and fire trucks to go.

I did the triathlon, when it came to the running if anybody tried to pass me I just punched them in the head. :D

The downhill mountain bike was pretty hard too.

Even when I\'m not in the mood for doing anything mission-wise on it, I still turn the game on when there\'s nowt else doing, and just drive/fly around. The sheer size of the map means there is always plenty of open road to wind your way along.

I could quite easily spend an hour or so, just driving. Start of at CJ\'s mums house, then get on the motorway, drive north into Las Venturas, then get off the beaten track & into the winding roads of the desert, then head towards Gant bridge and head down through the streets of San Fierro, and go into the backwoods & towns surrounding Mt Chilliad, before making my way back into Los Santos.

If you actually stop to notice these things, you realise how the lighting & weather changes rom city to city, and from each part of the surrounding countryside.

There are always new things that you discover for the first time, especially if you keep one eye open for them while you are driving.

As well as that, there\'s the hidden objects to find.

That\'s what I do when I\'m bored and don\'t fancy doing missions in the game.

I think it\'s the best area of the 3. No wonder they left it until the last to be unlocked.

[sp]I\'m not sure of the mission name, but if I can recall, it\'s one of the garage missions, the one where you have to blow up the drugs factory near the driving school

edit///

just had a look around, it\'s a mission called Yay Ka-Boom-Boom

The heist missions are optional. If the swimming one isn\'t a heist mission, go diving for a bit to raise your lung capacity to about 33%.

Don\'t drown.

Controls are way easier to use on pc. Cleaner graphics, higher framerates, better sound.   But mainly because i hate the ps2 controls.

Heh. I\'ve beat the game and done most of the extra challenges and I STILL haven\'t finished that mission. It\'s always the guy on the motorcycle that gets me.

The trick is to shoot the planes when they\'re still way off in the distance.

Good luck.

yo, i was about to ask that question..i was wondering if you could continue the story without doin that mission...cause just like you samurai, i keep gettin killed by that cat on the motorcycle...not to mention controlling that plane is a pain in the a$$!

now that i know you could, i\'m gonna skip that mission and just do other missions to progress the story...

one mo question...i\'m at the part of the game where i\'m spending most of my time in san fierras (spel)...y\'know where cj gets the garage...anyway........spoiler.... those crooked cops sent me on mission to kill some reporter..and i ended up back in the first area (ganton)...now i went back to my old hood only to find out that even in cj\'s hood where he started the game from is taken over by the ballas,...is there a way to fix this?

i know earlier the game gave you the option to defend certain turfs,..but when the game opened up more, i didn\'t have time to defend those territories..now it seems that part of town is completely taken over...

[sp]Later on in the game, reclaiming your hood is a mission.[/sp] If you really want to reclaim it now you can find a group of Ballas and shoot them so that a Gang War is initiated. After you fend off three waves of ballas you should have the territory under your control again.

whoa..i just passed those flight missions..y\'know the one\'s where cj purchased that abandoned airfield?..sheeit..i spent f**kin hours trying to pass that s**t...i loved the game up until that point...i can\'t stand difficult challenges like that...what\'s worse is that ypu have to complete those training missions to progress the story....this is just a rant, when i was younger i would be able ti endure s**t like this,..but now anything where i\'m replaying a level over 10- 20 times....i\'m ready to throw the game through a window....still a good game tho...

I waas bored with not much else to do in the game, so I went back to the airfield to get more gold/silver passes, so I could unlock another plane.

Instead of having a few silver & most bronze, I now have a few gold and the rest are silver. At some point, I\'ll probably have a pop at the golds.

im only 32% done. been playing it on and off.

I cant beat this stupid ass mission from zero called supply lines (i think). Where u have to kill 5 carriers AND go back where u came from before u run out of fuel. Iv deemed it impossible.

The Boating school and the Flying school were the easiest in the whole game. All golds on both were a snap.

Ive stopped playing right now though, just because i bought ICO offline and now GT4 is coming out. I still havent tried MGS3 so theres a lot to do.

Yeah that mission sucked huge balls... I barely passed it... I literally landed back at the base with my fuel meter flashing. It was intense.
