I have two small problems for long ago and noboby I\'ve asked to was able to answer properly. One is concerning MS Word. The other MS Access.
1) How the hell you do for in MS Word words split from one line to another and avoid the inmense space between words when the final one is too long and has to go to the following line? I mean if you have uncover at the end of the line, I would like to have un - cover and not the whole word in the next line.
2) Access: How the hell do you make the even lines to be bright shadowed in any colour so that large databases are easier to read? I mean one line bright grey, then normal, then grey again, normal etc. Is any way to set this automatically?
Thanx a lot you gurus :P

Um...welcome back? Where have you been?

1) So you are expecting Word to know you want to hyphenate a word rather than carrying it down? Most people would rather the word go down. Not really sure if Word will do that. Although you could always do that yourself on lines that look odd to you.
2) Did you try a reboot? THat\'s usually the first step in everything windows related.

I remember when I first started to use Word, it had a mind of its own. It would indent, add in paragraphs. The indenting was a pain. everytime I hit enter, the paragraph would start in the middle of the flipping page. I just went into the settings and changed it so it wouldn\'t do anything automatically. Better but still a pain in my ass. And that f***ing paper clip pisses me off. I want to melt that son of a bitch.

If you are worried about the spaces just use the justify alignment. There is no point in putting in hyphens and broken words in a word processor.

Word can hyphenate if I remember correctly. Just can\'t remember how... search and you shall find... the feature\'s in there somewhere. :)

Hi. Yes I know there may exist that option but cannot find where is it. Of course i dont wanna use it in every document but there are a couple of them in which it would be fine. Anyhow, it is not that important.
Thanx for your help.
TITAN: I\'m taking my last course in university. It takes all my time, i think you can understand that. :(

Adan,
What version of Access are you running?
Are you trying to color the alternating rows in the data sheet view, or in a print report? It might be easier in a print report or a screen report than in the normal data sheet view.

If you really want it hyphenate it why don\'t you just add in the dash yourself?

I\'m using Access 2003. I would have it coloured in the printed version, though a screen data view wouldn\'t be bad as well. Have you got any hint?

Of course I can, but it would be nice to let the program do it automatically, since if the text is 30 pages long, the task of doing it may be... grrrr ;)

Sorry. I checked my Access references, and didn\'t find any way to do it. In any case, if you only want to look at your data in datasheet mode, you might as well use Excel. Then you can do alternate row highlighting with the autoformat feature.
Access is better suited to viewing individual records using a form, and then narrowing your view using a query or filter.

I see. Thanx a lot for your wasted time Cored. I\'ll try to look for some another way to do it.
