Looks damn cool.  My local theaters aren\'t getting it on release though. :(  May have to go downtown.

I\'m very much looking forward to this movie. Comes out Friday, right?? The trailer is so damn cool. The big-ass black dude charging the tiny Asian, then he just plows his leg right into his face and knocks him out cold. :D I think this movie will be subtitled, as it already came out in Asia [and France, I believe]. I\'m such a geek for Asian flicks. I was like the only person in the theater at House of Flying Daggers [that movie ended too suddenly].

I thought it was a black guy too, but its a massive australian guy named big bear...

My friend has a DVD burner so he dloaded it and called me over to watch it, aside from the fact that it had no subtitles and she had to explain to me every 2 minutes what was going on, the action kept me glued anyway. Tony Jaa\'s athleticism is truly inspiring, if not making you wanna go out and send a flying knee into someones face it should at least inspire you to go for a jog around the block. The dude is incredible.

The fighting is amazing, makes your body sore. I\'m very much looking forward to seeing Tony Jaa\'s next movie.

btw how was house of flying daggers??

and on a side note i\'m loving this sort of 2nd golden age of martial arts films :D

Flying Daggers was actually a LOT better than I thought it was going to be. It was very unique, and had some humor in it every now and then. When you\'re watching it, it takes a bit of getting used to...Chinese culture is strange. It\'s actually a love story, and it would have been fine had they not abruptly ended it so quickly. The credits came up and everyone was like...WTF?!?! What happened to the *insert spoiler here*

I wouldn\'t recommend it if you\'re not a hardcore Asian film fan. Otherwise...stay away!! It\'s definitely not Crouching Tiger, but it\'s still unique in it\'s own way. What\'s really interesting is...you know the main character from Onimusha 1 [he\'s a real actor]? He\'s in this movie. That made it really strange. There\'s some plot twists here and there that make you go..."WTF?!? I wasn\'t expecting that."

About Ong-bak, I don\'t know why I said that was a black guy, my friend told me he was Australian as well. He downloaded the movie and told me all about it. But the trailer [the long Asian version] was enough to get me hooked. ;) I hear he does a lot of his own stunts [does it appear that way in the movie?]. Bring on Friday. :D

he does all his own stunts, that was one of the things that drew me to the movie. If a stuntman replaced him for anything then it was done seemlessly and I didn\'t notice. But I think it would be hard to find a stuntman that can do the things Tony Jaa does, and theres not a part (to my memory) where his face is obscured or anything like that during the fights or stunts.

And the director shows multiple angles of the best moves 3-4 times in a row, like a replay so you can tell if its Jaa or not.

as for HOFD i\'m definately gonna check it out, I love martial arts movies a ton. On my sattelite we have the drive-in channel and every saturday they play tons of old school flicks. With uber cheesy acting/dialogue but great fights. But IMO the cheesy acting is part of the fun :)

oh and Zhang-Ziyi is smokin hot!

I am probably thr only one but I really don\'t care for the newer asian flicks, I watched CTHD and it was good but not awesome, Hero blew, I haven\'t seen 1k daggers but I dont think I will. It\'s all about the origional, The Chinese Connection rocked..."Masta Mastaaaaa!" The killer Meteor was Matrix before Matrix, Gangsta is what I call it..

However there is this new Jet lee Movie I want to see wherehe has a dog necklace around his neck and he is a killing machine or some crap, looks interesting enough.

Personally i thought HoFD was pretty damn good. I ended up seeing it twice. Id elaborate but its not worth wasting my energy. I have to pack to go to Ohio at 7 tomorrow.

I doubt anybody will know this but is Ong Bak the flick that RZA from Wu Tang was advertising?

Ong Back has the greatest moves I\'ve seen in any martial arts movie. Now wires, no special affects....watch and see for yourself. You\'ll be ooh\'ing and ahhh\'ing. Just forget about a good story. :)

The car was kinda low anyway. However, there\'s a possibility that there may have been a small trampoline but there were two camera angles for that one stunt.....you know, Jackie Chan style. Showing the same stunt consecutively from two different angles. I didn\'t see a trampoline.

It\'s not a rare thing for martial artists to jump a LOT higher than most people. I saw Bruce Lee in some documentaries where he just jumped 5-6 feet straight up in the air. It\'s not as amazingly fantastic as you might think. Don\'t be sad because you\'re [sp]not an Asian with a small penis.[/sp]

I saw it last night, it kicked major ass. If it werent for the Wu-tang clan advertising it I think more people would go see it. He really is the next Jackie Chan, or he should be. He did some insane shit I cant see Jackie doing. Stuff like jumping through a barbed wire loop that is maybe 2 feet wide. And he didnt dive through it, he put his arms and feet out in front of him.

This DVD can be owned for less than $10 on Ebay.

That\'s the name of the fat side kick. Perhaps the US theatrical version gave him a new name.

I just watched this movie.

It\'s hard for me to believe that a human can move like that!

That fighting style looks more realistic and volatile than kung-fu, but still keeps the acrobatic feel.

That guy didn\'t hold back on the punches. The guys taking the punch, you can see in slow motion, they had to brace themselves for the impact. Kinda like Evis when he takes it up the pooper from black guys. ;)

Tom Yum Goong is also known as "The Protector" for the fucked up, retarded American version in which they cut out nearly a half hour of movie time because Quentin Tarantino is a douche bag and let dumb ass video editors have their way with it.
