Can\'t remember the last time we did this, but it\'s probably been about a year. If you want to list games go ahead (more than 10 gets shot), but I\'m curious about which game gave you the most entertaining experience. I know I\'ve missed some really good ones people here seem to like. For me it\'s:
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
May be an obvious answer to some of you but i think this was the first game to score perfect 10s on Famitsu. I am definitely *not* an RPG player or a lover of the gh3y mystical tree-forest-wizard-mancer stories, but I loved just about every aspect of this game. For some reason I remember almost every detail of talking with the great Deku Tree, walking through the Water Temple, trying to get to the market before day turned to night on horseback, fighting Phantom Ganon, trying to find the code to see Link naked... the list goes on.
So what\'s yours?

damn, to many games to list.
My fav games so far have been mainly fighters, without going into to details.
Kotor 1 was wicked, very well done and had heaps of replay value, 2 seemed lacking compared to the first, but i\'ll go through it again as a dark jedi.
Def Jam Fight for NY is extremely fun, i was pissed off that it ended so quickly..
Fight Night 2004 is the best Boxing game i\'ve ever played.
Tekken 4 is one of the best fighters with VF4.
Getting tekken 5 so that\'ll be interesting to see how it compares with T4.
SplinterCell series has got to be one of the best Stealth games around. Getting SC3 soon, that should rock, but i need a new gfx card.
Gothic series have been some of the BEST RPG games i\'ve ever played, i\'m hangin for part 3.
Hitman series is another great series. Probably the most non-linear games around.
Starwars: Jedi outcast was a very cool game, academy sucked ass.
Farcry has to be one of the best FPS games made, very cool and well done game.
i could go forever so that\'ll do.

Sad to say, but I still love the Duck Hunt

...damn, you remember everything about the Water Temple? Props to you -- I could NEVER get that temple down, that thing was a thorough pain in my ass. But yes, everything about that game was perfect. Of course, there was that one Brazillian bitch who led everyone on a wild goose chase for the Triforce with her bullshitted photoshop journey to the thing...blehh. I\'m pretty sure she was hunted down and murdered if I\'m not mistaken :-P
As for mine...
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
I\'ve never been as addicted to a video game as I was to this one, and I too am not that big of an RPG player. The plot, even with Bowser being a good guy, was the best plot IMO for any Mario game to date bar none. That, along with Geno and Mallow being completley badass (Finger Gun!), the game was just awesome. The ending kinda blew, but everything outside of that was extremely well done, and to this day remains my favorite video game ever, with Super Metroid behind at a close 2nd.
See Yuz.

There was nothing more enjoyable than waiting for 30 minutes for games to load from a cassette.
Those were the days.
You kids today don\'t know you\'re born!!!

- Super Mario World
- Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past
- Donkey Kong Country 2
- NiGHTS into Dreams
- Banjo-Kazooie
- Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
- Final Fantasy IX
- Skies of Arcadia
- Halo
- Jak & Daxter The Precursor Legacy
Those are my absolute favorites that I think deserve 10\'s.
I\'ve played through Super Mario World at least a dozen times, sometimes I\'ll do it all in a day, then finish up all the extras the next day.
A Link to the Past is one of those games I just don\'t get tired of, I believe I\'ve played through it six times. I usually dust off the SNES every other year or so to go through it again.
Donkey Kong Country 2 is the best 2D platform game I\'ve ever played. I\'ve lost count of how many times I\'ve played through it.
NiGHTS is short, but sweet. I lost count of the times I\'ve played through the game when I hit 30, I\'ve gone through it many times since. I\'ve been praying for a sequel since \'96.
I\'m on my fourth time through Ocarina of Time currently, such a fantastic game. I\'m very excited that the level designer from this installment is heading up the new Zelda.
Banjo-Kazooie, I was really liking Rare because of the Donkey Kong series on the SNES but it was BK that made me a huge fan. The only reason that the next Xbox is a guaranteed buy for me is because of Rare.
Final Fantasy IX; Square finest, imo. The best cast and most imaginative of the series, I love everything about it.
Skies of Arcadia is phenomenal, the world was so original and the cast was so likable. The battle system might have been a bit weak but it didn\'t stop me from going through it twice, once on the DC then another on the GC. Excellent story and I\'m begging for a sequel.
Halo, the most fun I\'ve ever had with a FPS. Doom, Unreal, Quake, Half-Life, etc...lots of fun, but for me Halo was more fun than all of those combined.
Jak & Daxter, the perfection of 3d platforming, imo. I\'m still waiting for someone to do it better than Naughty Dog did with this first installment, but in the mean time I\'ll just play through it again.:D
If I had to choose one game out of those ten it would have to be Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.
-
Final Fantasy VII, always will be.

I wore out many, many joysticks on that game. And california games, too. I loved the frisbee part and skateboarding.
Loderunner\'s rescue on C64. And Racing Destruction Set on C64.
First games you could make your own levels. And Airborne Ranger.
Sort of like Commando, but with a strategy side to it. And a leveling up sort of feature. Oh, and nothing could beat Rambo.

ya vid! the first game I ever played
my mom is a big gamer and when I ws real little she got me into duck hunt and mario. Classic memories of me and her playing the original Mario aswell as Duck Hunt
My mom has been there for all my favorite gaming moments.
Me and her played the original Resident Evil and I would sit behind her on the couch playing with my toys while she did all the hard parts. I\'ll remember forever when she ws playing the game and I was playing with my toys and that dog comes flying through the window.
She screamed at the top of her lungs and scared the crap outta me.
Also me and her beat Tomb Raider II together where I would do the fighting and she would do the puzzles.
Then we played the hell outta Crash Bandicoot 2 together as well.
All great great fun, I love playing videogames with her more than I do my actual friends.
I remember one time with Parasite Eve I couldn\'t find a key and I had to go to school so before I leave I ask her to give a look around for the key.
Sure enough I come home and shes got the key and 3 new guns and lots of ammo. It was great.
I luv my mommy.

Landstalker: Sega Genesis
This game was so ridiculously overshadowed by the SNES\'s Zelda: Link to the Past. Essentially, it was Sega\'s Zelda. You were a treasure hunter named Nigel, in search of an evil ancient king\'s treasure. The puzzles in the game were amazing, and the fighting was just as fun as you equipped various boots, swords, tunics, etc.
Just overall an incredible game, it pretty much comprised of my entire life when I was 10 years old. I didnt think a day went by when I played it.

Miner 2049er (Atari 800)
Utopia or Sea Battle (Intellivision)
M.U.L.E. (Atari 800)
X-Com: UFO Defense (PC)
Civilization 1, 2, or 3 (PC)
Command & Conquer: Red Alert / Red Alert 2 / Yuri\'s Revenge (PC)
System Shock (PC)
Half Life (PC)
If Valve eventually solves the stuttering problems, HL2 would eclipse HL.
If you added up all the time I\'ve spent gaming in my lifetime, I\'ve probably spent more time on the Civilization games than all others combined. Therefore my vote for greatest game goes to Civilization (take your pick of which version, but III is the best so far)

Turtles II on the NES pwns all your puny games!!!

Super Mario RPG (SNES)
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
Super Mario 64 (N64)
Final Fantasy IX (PSX)

Mike Tyson\'s Punch Out! (NES)
Those are the top 6 that came to mind.

Of all time has to Ledgend of Zelda: A LInk to the Past just b/c I\'ve played it more than any of my other "favorites".
Ocarina of Time is a close second, then Mario RPG probably... who were those power ranger lookin guys again?

SwifDi\'s got it right with the LandStalker loving. I was a huge Zelda fan (from the NES era) but didn\'t have the SNES until 1996. LTTP is IMO one of the great titles in all of gaming history, but LandStalker definitely earns kudos.
I never owned it in cartridge form but back in the day.. set a personal record by renting it at least 8 times. Probably 9. Different copies, even.
I\'ve also never gone straight through it and beaten it, but I\'ve beaten every part of it one way or another. Fantastic gameplay, awesome music, and a great story/presentation. Definitely in my top 5 favorite Genesis titles.
As for my favorite game of all time.. very hard to say. LTTP is definitely up there, but it\'s really easier for me to pick GOTY\'s. Even then I\'m putting myself to the test.. heh..
Last 3 years have been pretty easy, though.
2002: Metroid Prime
2003: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time (close runners-up being TWW and KOTOR)
2004: Half-Life 2
-
Zelda: A Link to the Past
KoToR
Nights Into Dreams
Super Mario 64
Yoshi\'s Island
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Virtua Fighter 2

That picture of Donkey Kong Country brings back memories. I could earn 101% of that game today if I played it. Loved it.
Of all time, the easy answer for me is always Punch-Out!!, but as I fend off challengers in Tetris Worlds, Tetris is coming up for that spot on the list for me.
I got awesome with it on the NES (Nintendo version), learned to play competitively with Tetrinet (can\'t say I always won, but I hung in there) and now I house my friends and online strangers in Tetris Worlds whenever I get the chance.
I just regret missing it on the original Game Boy.
Also, kudos to vid\'s mention of Duck Hunt. I remember putting a chair across the room as a marker and Dad and I would aim over it and see who was better.
That\'s a really timeless game and is still fun in short doses when the mood strikes today. Any light gun game since is basically the same thing with different pictures.
Only now the "ducks" hit back.
Light gun games rocked in the day, though. Games like Wild Gunman, Hogan\'s Alley and Gotcha: Sport were all great. I never got into Gumshoe, though. I think that was the one where you shot the guy to keep him in the air.

LiC has a good "if you like this genre, get this game" list going there.. hehe..

The Axim Rangers from the Volcano? Good times :)
They were all a little too perky for my taste...was fun shoving my size 13 Plumber Shoes in their asses.
See Yuz.

Yeah, Ocarina Of Time for me. It just felt special from start to finish. There\'s nothing to say about this game that hasn\'t already been said. I feel honored to be in it\'s present. Personally I looooove the Spirit Temple. Just something I look forward to everytime I\'m near it.
Water Temple...hhhm...really want to play this game again just to see if it will mess with my mind again. I\'ve never been frustrated by something like the water temple. It wasn\'t impossible, that much was clear. You were just unable to find that key or you kept going through the wrong door over and over. Water Link and the lead into the boss and the boss itself were brilliant.
Again, from start to end I was completely hooked. number 1
Mario RPG...seems to be a good second. It\'s just so charming and fun. I don\'t know what it is about that part of the game but I think the Princess wedding "scene" was the greatest moment ever. The whole process leading up to it and then the grand cake finale! Uber.
