Title: took some pics in GT4
Post by: unknown on February 25, 2005, 03:31:30 PM: I figure I should post a couple of pics of my car from GT4 for you to see, no touch ups, just how they were uploaded. Has anyone else taken pic sof thier vehicle?

Anyways it\'s an RX7 Type R, pretty damn fast with the mods done so far and wining races lol. sorry its not a supercar "scratches balls" but it\'s a cars I\'ve actually wanted.

I almost wish. Its very .... odd. You place the car with a little marker on a map of where you can put it. The map is simulated with simple shapes and you can also move the placement of the camera on the map. I really wish you could get some racing photos and see all the smoke kicking up from drifting a hard turn. Sadly it doesnt work that way. Still fun to a degree though. I wouldnt knock it.

Id take some pictures but 1) its 1am 2) im lazy and 3 I keep on deleting my GT4 save because i dont know whether to "cheat" and use my gt3 credits and licence or not. That and picking a first car is always hard - not to mention i havent seen my car in the used lots. 1983-87 toyota sprinter trueno.

Anyways after I took those pics I got another car, it\'s a Skyline GT-r made out of Carbon fiber :o, that thing is nuts and will not get traction if I floor it, I have to feather he pedal until its going bout 100mph, I regret buying it now because its so powerful & lite i lose races because all I do is spin the wholetime and dont accelerate lol..

And have to pit every 2 laps? I wouldnt reccomend it. Then again i guess it depends on which ones you get.

I say get a wing and then set your gear ratios further apart so that you arent putting too much power down. Worked for my 1000hp Vette in GT3 and just about every other over powered car.

It already has a wing o it so I\'ll set it for maximum DF.

downforce cannot be adjusted, no matter what I ddi to the thing I couldnt get it to get traction, even with the racing tires. fastest time out of 800+hp was 12.8, my rx7 is faster and has only 400 hp lol.

I sold it and upgraded meh rx7, great way to blow 350,000 credit that I earned int he game LOL. I\'ll just redo the competition for the cash, thats whats best about this game, I\'ll never get tired of doing the same tracks!

Oh and I\'m only 4% done so far ;)

Did you even try adjusting the gear ratios? Thats the main component in not putting too much power down. Meh, I have started the game and then started over like 50 million times. Im never sure whether i should cheat or not, so i ened up buying an old Trueno and modding that so i didnt feel so cheap. Havent had much time with the game either so idk when ill even get rolling.

I have it the widest gear ratio posssible and maxe dout traction control, all it did was go sower.

Post by: Titan on February 28, 2005, 06:43:47 PM: Who here "cheated"? I transfered 100,000 dollars and the A and B licenses because I just wanted to dive right into it. I got a Mustang GT. I didn\'t want to worry about getting that really slow start but didn\'t want to get an insanely fast car like the Viper or anything like that. I kept it simple. The Mustang isn\'t anything perfect either. I\'ve lost quite a few races in it but its still good for a first car. But, the only reason I did that is I just wanted to get into the game and not worry about redoing all the licenses.

I downgraded from a stage 4 to a stage 2, it got slower and still spun LOL.

I dont even own it naymore, I sold it and ended up going with the Mines Skyline, much nicer imo.

I just got a Cadillac cien, my first car with over 1,000hp. I\'m so proud.

I just found a neat trick to do with it, on the Seattle circuit go up the street hill part instead of down it and make sure to get speed while approaching it, before you reach the top it will fly up vertically like that one car would in GT3 lol.

Are you using the controller or the Logitech wheel? The pedals will help so much with that over-torqued monster you got. Or calibrate your controller so it\'s not hair triggered to 100%.

fork out? You can get them for less tha 20 bucks.

I\'ve only seen them for £40 - I\'m already shelling out £140 for the game and the new wheel, an extra £40 would be streching the budget to me >fasting for a week< :p

you do have a point there! I was using the x button and am now training myself to use the right analog stick, much more precise amount of gas.

Oh, and how do you get to the point where you take pictures of your replays? I have some sexy replays that are just begging for photo mode.

Post by: GmanJoe on March 07, 2005, 10:08:01 AM: During replays, press the Select button. Then you can zoom in and focus on which car you want. You can also change camera angles to get the most dramatic shot. I use a regular USB jump drive. Then I uploaded the pics to photobucket.com.

These things can store screenshots of any game at any time right? For example, if I wanted to take an impromptu screenshot of GTA SA, I could?

never played it and never watched it.

I can do it with my IROC-Z. you just need a rwd car and common sense. "this is for beginner drifting/ GT 4 drifting lol" let off gas and turn into the turn early hit the e-brake so thet the rear locks up and start to do a 180, once the drift begins tkae off the ebrake and gas that bitch to keep it going sideways aroudn the turn, counter steer to correct from over steering etc. and thats it.

on the game the secodn you even tap the ebrake into a turn it does what its supposed to do but as you gas it to keep it at a constant it just gets slower and slower. it\'s still fun to do though lol. I\'ll record it and post it ;).

I dont know where you do it in real life or how you do it in GT4 but if you\'re on the right course you can go pretty fast. The first turn at Apricot Hill is a sick frickin turn to master. I take it close to full speed.

The physics are actually a lot more realistic in many aspects. The weight shifting is far more acurate than in gt3. Maybe its your set up too. The only thing that gets difficult with the control stick is when the car catches during a drift and you spin out in the opposite direction. Ill see about getting a usb mem stick but ill probably just bum one off a friend this week.

Ill put up some more sexy drifting pics then or something.

And damn.... the DeLorean drifts like a madman.

Right now im making the perfect drift settings for my FC (2nd gen rx7) D1 car. I have a couple of replays saved and a sweet looking picture. Maybe ill post the picture when i have to time as well.

That is the general opinion, you are not in a minority. In real life, the cars are beset by all sorts of design faults & mechanical problems.

From day 1, the design process was rushed to the point of ridiculous proportions.

I know English people hate De Lorean but a lot of Americans I know like De Lorean for the fact that he helped build the GTO and to many considered the father of the muscle car. Shady guy, I agree.

This little app puts multiple images together to create a panoramic shot, and as you can see it does a damn good job. :D
