Whell, after following the TGS link in Ginko\'s thread, I came accross this article (http://tgs.tca.org.tw/news/news_e.php?ID=507). It features Satoru Iwata, Nintendo Boss, saying their new console will be nothing like the next Xbox or PlayStation. Which leads me to wonder what in god\'s name is it?
Looking at the DS, you\'d be forgiven for thinking it might be a gaming laptop, but that\'s too easy. I think it\'s going to be some kind of augmented reality system where players don a light headset with a camera and use the real world in some manner.
What do you think it is?

Hmmmm...judging by the leaked mock-ups of the (Nexus)Revolution I\'m going to assume it cleans the house when you\'re not playing it, you know like one of those things that roams around the house detecting dirt. That would explain the comment Iwata made, "we don\'t want it to be something that people will see as too irrelevant to them, too difficult to use, or as something that wastes space."

Everybody likes a clean house. I just hope it doesn\'t use bags, that would be a pain.
In all seriousness I think it will simply be equipped to be more interactive with the player. Think eyetoy, tilting controllers, or perhaps some adult toys...

Not a bad mock-up of what it could look like. Some of the "guessed" specs are a little weak (please use higher-capacity discs, Nintendo..) but in general they estimate it to be powerful.

They just stuck a smooth GCN top onto an N64.
I think the Revolution is all hype. I agree with EyeToy and silly doodads like that, but I think Nintendo is gonna underwhelm us.
Gamers just want games and mainstream consumers just want marketing muscle.
That\'s how you drum up sales, not by latching onto hit-or-miss gimmicks.
Good luck Nintendo. I always root for them.

I hope it looks NOTHING like that mockup. :eek:
But I think Nintendo\'s gonna use gyros in the controllers and stuff like that, to make it more interactive.

I haven\'t went out and bought a nintendo console since SNES. I was given an N64 which collected a lot of dust next to my psx. So I sold it for $90.
So next generation I am actually looking forward to the next nintendo system. And as long as it is $100 cheaper than a ps3 or x2 I will add it too my next gen list as well.

It\'s gonna be a chip you implant behind your neck and when you want to play you push on the spot, then it sends signals to your eyes and follows your brain waves to move the character/car/ whatever it is around.
Side effects may include severe headaches, prolonged nausia, loose stool, explosive diahrea, and the usual instant death or possible self combustion from overheating.
But seriously ir better be cooler than the game boob.

The mockup for the new Nintendo system IMO looks different but yet I like it.

Those "mock ups" are old. Somehow i doubt it will look like this.
Then again, you never know.
