This (http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/microsoft-xbox/594331p1.html) article from GameSpy reveal some details about the Xbox 2 hardware. But as they say: "Keep in mind that all of this information is based off of alpha development kits and current projections for the final hardware."
Some tidbits:
- CPU - Xenon\'s CPU has three 3.0 GHz PowerPC cores.
- GPU - Xenon\'s GPU is a generation beyond the ATI X800. Its clock speed is 500 MHz and it supports Shader 3.0.
- System Memory - Xenon will have 256 MB of system RAM.
-
Super.

I can\'t wait!

Me drools. Nice spec. I can understand for not supporting next generation HD-DVD or Blu Ray as it will increase the cost of the system too much.
I wonder how many polygons with textures, lighting, anti antializing can be shown on screen per second...
-
I wonder how Sony is going to counter this

and you girlz are all getting wet off projections specs?
i wonder what sony\'s unofficial fanboi\'s website will vaporware to get you all wet.

hey why are you ruining it for us by messing with "insignificant details?:p

I still believe PS3 will be more powerful than Xbox 2... but I guess only time will tell. :)

I agree.
X Box was more powerful than the PS2 when it was released, lets hope its the other way around this time.
-
The only thing of surprise is the included camera, everything else was leaked weeks or months ago.
show me some games!!

Why hope that???
I\'d rather have my online gaming go with the stronger console. Considering we all saw how Live compared to Sonys.

Does that mean you tested positive for STDs 3 times, and the tests were expensive?

Isnt the Cell like 4 Ghz? And it will use blue laser right?
What are the current specs on the PS3
-
There aren\'t any current specs on the PS3. 1 CELL chip is capable of 256 GFLOPs, from the information given at the ISSCC last month. No word yet on nVidia\'s GPU, which is said to be finished by the end of the year. There aren\'t any specifics as to what exactly is going into the PS3 itself, i.e. number of CELL chips, but I\'m sure we\'ll know a lot more when E3 comes around.

A small price to pay for a much better online gaming experience. 50$ for a year, so a little over 3$ a month. Are you telling me 3$ a month isn\'t worth it for the increase in quality, pshhhhh.
-
more like 4$ a month, but close enough
if quality is some 12 year old prick telling me to go fuck myself in a robot voice is quality, then i prefer to miss out.

Sounds like this:

that about sums up xbox live
-
lol, I meant four. Calc has fried my brain this week. Anyways four dollars a month for live is a steal if you ask me. Cry all you want about annoying kids and whatever else you want, it is your style. Taking some pointless little complaint and making it your arguement, reaching out on a limb.
-
owned.
not that he was really owned, but mm has a habit of doing the same to me everytime someone makes a little argument towards me.
so.
owned.

By braking into peoples homes in the middle of the night and then stealing their babies milk.
Either that or wait till the X box next is launched then activate the mini nukes hidden inside EVERY LAST PSP out there.
You will never take me alive...Boooooommmmmmmmm

souly, me stating that xbox live is a rip off, and you totally fabricating stories out of your ass are two completely different things.
boz, the amount of money doesnt matter. it\'s the fact that you have to pay at all. you dont see PC devs charging a monthly (non mmorpg). hell, even PS2 devs arent charging.
it\'s a bad business model that M$ hyped and sucked you into thinking it\'s the cool thing to do.
the future of xbox live?
Microsoft also plans to greatly expand its online network in its next generation, letting players and developers form their own marketplace, selling in-game content for real-world cash via small micro-transactions. Racing game enthusiasts, for example, will be able to buy a faster car to give them an edge in the game for a slight bit more, should they wish. Similarly, players who design, say, clothing or tattoos for their own characters will be able to sell those to others.
cash = win
welcome to teh xbox live

And of those online games that don\'t charge how many of them are full of hackers and cheaters? :)
-
why dont you people wait and see how the consumers in a broader view will see it WHEN ITS AVAILABLE TO THEM?

Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner.

Not too fond of the "live" experience. Im sort of on the same track with mm there. Bastards who think they are hot shit all the time isnt always my idea of fun. Dont get me wrong, there are some decent live games, but Halo 2 gave me one of the biggest headaches of my life.
Never again.
-
Don\'t you guys have friends that play live too?? I could put hours together on live just playing friends on various games.
-
And if you\'re just playing friends, you wouldn\'t have to worry about all those hackers and cheaters.. ;)

True enough. I have a bunch of Live games but I\'m hooked on Tetris.
Some kids came in there and started arguing about Halo 2 Live. If I didn\'t like Halo 2 before, I\'m sick of it now.
And I haven\'t played more than 20 minutes of it.
