Title: I finished the 24 hour Nurburgring last night.

I used the Jaguar LM race car and beat the second place car by 20 laps. :D My prize was the Gran Turismo Formula 1 \'04 race car. And this was my first endurance race! I had started the race the night before I went to bed, went to work yesterday, came home last night to see it still at 20 hours. Man...what a long race! My driver prolly pissed and crapped in his suit all day. :p

WOW! I mean....WOW! This car is better than all the F1 cars in GT3! I takes the corners at insane speed and has seven...yes, SEVEN GEARS! :D

Bliss.....currently, I set the F1 to another enduro race before I left for work. B-Spec = slackers dream

Post by: GmanJoe on March 10, 2005, 12:38:37 PM: Thank goodness, no. There\'s this thing called "B-Spec" where you coach your driver when to pass and stuff. However, once you\'ve got the lead, you can just set the driver to race at a "steady" pace. He\'ll pit automatically. Once my driver took the lead, I just left the PS2 running and went to work.

How\'s that a waste of time? I was enjoying life outside and also going to work while GT4 played out a 24hour race. (you can set it to play at 3x speed)

I\'d rather earn the cars doing something that involved skill and not leaving the ps2 on some kind of auto mode overnight and through the day.

Ill most likely do this for real and leave it on when i sleep. That or after midterms me (and maybe a friend or two will do the whole race straight. Who knows. Maybe not.

You have the option (during pit stops) to take over the controls. Who the hell would actually sit there for 24 hours ?

Think of it this way, in the 24 Hour LeMans, team drivers will drive the same car. Driver one will drive for 4 hours, then rest as driver 2 takes over. Repeat. Think of B-Spec as driver 2. See now? Even real life race car drivers won\'t race for 24 straight hours at speeds of up to 200mph.

Thats what i usually do. I probably wont really play it for 24 hours. Ill probably be switching between a spec and b spec, though i have a tendancy in this game to drive cars that wont crush the competition. I dont know if my b spec driver can handle the pressure :p.

I thought when you installed the "full customize" race gearbox in any car, then it automatically got at least six gears. However, that is not the case. I bought a used TVR V8S and upgrade the stock transmission because I wanted to improve the painfully slow shifting. After the upgrade it shifted faster, however it still had only five gears. I\'m baffled.

Post by: Kurt Angle on March 19, 2005, 11:37:28 AM: I just set it off on Laguna Seca 200 mile race in B-Spec mode. 25 laps out of 90 complete and still winning. I tried the Super speedway one and lost by 24 laps. :laughing:

EDIT : Just won the Ford GT40 race car :D Now I have set of off on the grand valley speedway 300k race. Already winning this one too.

In other words, it\'s not still broad daylight at 3am is it?

the "F1" car looks more like an IRL car to me, the nose cone is too stubby, and the front tyres look to slim, and the front suspension is too wide. In fact, the whole car is too wide to be an F1 car.

Could this be a replica of some real transitional car from several years ago?

The car reminds me of the Renault from a couple of years back, obviously, it is not an exact replica but the middle of the car is straight up Renault.

Favorite car at the moment goes to the Tommy Kaira ZZ-II (as it was in Gt3)
