Post by: videoholic on March 22, 2005, 11:52:51 AM
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7265804/

David Little dropped 250 pounds of weight on his chest and it rolled onto his neck.

His kids found him.

You see there.  This shit doesn\'t happen when you sit on your ass watching TV!!!!

A freakin heart attack while benching 250 pounds?

Well, I use free weights but NEVER for bench presses and dead lifts. Oops...no pun intended.

GO STEELERS!

Kind of like the third sentence in the post I presented right off the bat?

"a cardiac fluttering Thursday caused him to drop on his chest 250 pounds of weights, which rolled onto his neck and suffocated him"

i dont have a set to be able to do them..so i improvise a bit but its nowhere near as effective as bench pressing. I plan on using san diego state\'s gym and stuff. For now im just doing dumbells so im not like paul :D jk man. im skinny as f*ck as well.

I haven\'t worked out too seriously since high school.  I was starting to get my bench back, was at a max of about 170, weighing 150.  Then I fractured my wrist and haven\'t been in the gym since.  That was about 6 months ago so I should probably get back with it sometime soon.

Beh.. I just joined a gym, and I only use the Cybex machines. I have a bad wrist from a skateboarding injury (shattered my left wrist when I was 14), so I can\'t really put much weight on it. I top out at around 120 lbs before it really hurts. I prefer to do a bunch of reps with like 60-75 lbs.

Um...yeah that\'s fine, except you can\'t push yourself to the absolute limit without a spotter. And maxing the f^ck out of your muscles is a good thing.

Depends who you talk to I guess.  My friend just puts his max on the bench and does 5 reps in 3 sets.  The free personal trainer I got when I joined Bally\'s just made me lift the bar first, then about 55 lbs, then 75 lbs for the last set.  I was like wtf since I can bench my weight (83lbs) but he told me going low is the way to get strength + mass.

Sure enough more & more I\'m seeing big guys just do a rep or two with just the bar.  If I was that big I\'d throw on like a zillion lbs and show off as much as possible.

You\'re 83 pounds? You\'re a skinny little thing, aren\'t you :p It\'s alright. I\'m 125 and pretty skinny.

I was j/k lol.  Up to 142lbs now.  83lbs is deadly skinny for a guy.

form is all that matters, but in order to induce hypertrophy you do need to shock the muslce with enough resistence (75-80% ot your 1rpm)

Form is the most important thing above ALL. Damn skippy!
