I don\'t know if this is piracy, But I wanna import my purchased DVD movies to a smaller mpeg format so I can save them on a flash card to play on my PSP. Is there a program capable of doing this? Again, if this is not to be discussed here, sorry. Not my intention to distribute, just convert.

DVDShrink (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/DVD_Shrink.htm) is free and lets you pick out certain parts of your DVD to rip to your HD (ie- omits the extras, subtitles, and unneeded language tracks). Rip them at the highest setting for no quality loss and you\'ll have a folder full of .VOB and .IFO files.
I\'m not sure if that special encoder program accepts VOB files but VDub mpeg-2 edition (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/VirtualDub-MPEG2.htm) does. You can convert to any codec there. Does the PSP only play its own codec or can you use any generic mp4?

I believe it\'s any mp4.... no special codec.
And thanx, I\'ll give those a try.
