looks stupid when you see superman as a real life character

lol @ gman

anyways, I kinda like how they kept it as a classic supes. I was worried they were gonna get too flashy and too modern...
(Batman Forever anyone?)

although after all these years it\'ll still take some time to not picture Reeves when I think Superman

people always talk about keeping the so called iconic superman costume, but it just looks fucking stupid on a real life character, especially now a days. They should update it for film, it\'s worked for batman (excluding the forever and robin) and it could work for supes

They should atleast put some texture on it or something, that saved the spidey costume hell it even managed to make him look muscular witthout going overboard, right now this just looks stupid

ohh yeah, stuff a sock down his pants, supes should be super in every respect.

Superman is one of those iconic characters that you can\'t really do TOO much to without the fans going bananas. Batman has gone through several iterations. The same goes for Spiderman and the Xmen. Even with all of Superman\'s changes throughout his run he has always reverted back to pretty much the same classic look.

I personally think the \'S\' on his chest looks a little small.

I still think Tom Welling would make a better superman. This guy just looks Supergay

i agree with joker..it\'s hard tryin to picture anyone but reeves in the outfit...this guy doesn\'t work for me...i think that other guy that had the tv show looks better than this this cat...i feel they can somehow update his look for film also. it worked for the xmen, batman and spidey as others have mentioned, it should work as long as they don\'t go overboard with it....

I read somewhere that Tom Welling didn\'t or couldn\'t do the movie cause the whole point of Smallville is that he\'s not Superman yet.

So he said it wouldn\'t make sense to play Superman then go back to playing plain ol Clark Kent on tv. Also many cast members have said that the day Welling puts the tights on is the day that they\'ve run out of ideas.

anyways...my personal opinion would be that Welling should of just done it anyways.

I mean christ if Keanu Reeves can go from being Ted from bill and Teds Excellent adventure to Neo then surely theres a logical way for Welling to do both .

by the way, are this dudes eyes even blue??

I believe changing a bit his boots, making blue darker and getting rid of the red "underwear" does some good change without changing much the original superman icon.

Oh and btw making his sleeves black till the area that there are the lines on his shoulders would make him look cooler (https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thesuperficial.com%2Farchives%2Fbr1.jpg&hash=cbd873b9e996a00fd51254392e96db1f9f297fd2)

All Bryan Singer had to do was make the suit more colorful and it would of worked, but instead he went with this monotone color set and it ruins the whole point of the iconic outfit.

Tom Weiling - Does not have the look of Kal El or Clark. He is also a terrible actor.

Brandon Routh - Unproven actor, on the same note, so was Christopher Reeve. However rumours circulating say that Routh was fired from a soap opera due to bad acting. We\'ll find out. Still, he has the look of Clark, but lacks the look of Kal El. He simply is to young, espically when you consider the point of the movie is to pick up where Superman II left off.

Dean Cain - Didn\'t have the look or acting skills.

Would of been a pointless change to a iconic outfit. This is not Batman, you can\'t take a lot of liberties with a such famous suit.

Short career for such a huge roll.  I guess they wanted an unknown.

I quoted Depeche Mode, damnit , not THX.

Superman returns from space after 5 years of looking for Krypton (huh?). He returns to find that Lois has moved on and is now married to Richard White, Perry White\'s son. He fights Lex Luthor and almost dies due to exposure to kryptonite.
