The way in which that is calculated seems odd. That and i dont think its superbly accurate.

We don\'t have illegals...?

And Giga, I think it\'s a current event because it is a magazine publication article. It\'s current and it deals with a social issue.

The only other school from Dallas that is up there is Highland Park. But that district is made up of the wealthy kids so they might of just bought that spot with all the money they have...stupid Highland Park.

Holy shit.

54 |  Spruce Creek*  |  Port Orange |  Fla. |  3.247 |  10.4

I can\'t believe mine\'s on the list.  I always thought the school sucked.

He\'s prejudiced against well-to-do people coz he feels they weren\'t taxed enough to support the sick illegals. :)

List it bogus. How does my school go from the top ten to not even being in the top 1000?

the number of Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate tests taken by all students at a school in 2004 divided by the number of graduating seniors.

My class is only 102 so that might be a factor. Together we took approximately 200 AP tests...I think.

I was just joking THX. But seriously, HP sucks major cock. Everybody in Dallas agrees.

Off topic:

They are known, by everybody, to be the snotty rich. They have not wanted to become and official part of Dallas and have decided to fund their own police department, school district etc. If you\'re a minority driving around there, a cop will pull you over and ask you if you are lost...

Hmm, mine was 653.  Not bad for just being a random public school.

Just because its posted in a magazine does not make it a current event and the as for being a social issue - I don\'t think some ranked list regarding public schools qualifies.

Now if you were debating the issue of private schools or public schools, for example, that would be a different matter.  You also could have approached it differently by tying it to some government policy, but you made it a "look at me!" thread - that is why it was moved here.  You are not a current event.
