It\'s a Dell Dimension 2400 [horrible I know], and it has a latch that you hold to the right and then slide the cover towards the back of the computer...like this:
(https://psx5central.com/community/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsupport.dell.com%2Fsupport%2Fedocs%2Fsystems%2Fdim2400%2Fen%2Fsm_en%2Frmvcvr4.jpg&hash=45f190e9e5529e196c2504643bfa291c66c037e3)
But the damn thing won\'t budge. It slides down about inch, and then stops there and decides to be a little bitch. I\'m used to Apple G5s where the side comes right down with no hassle. WTF am I doing wrong? I need to install a Gig of RAM that I just ordered and got in the mail today [I know how to install RAM, just this cover thing is making me look like a retard].
Any advice for a dumb ass like me? I don\'t want to f^ck anything up.

try pushing it down when u pull the cover back.
If it only gets so far, try lifting it from the back and then pulling it off when you\'ve pulled it back as far as it could go.

Thanks...that worked. :D There\'s so much freaking dust in there. I\'m borrowing this PC from my uncle until I get a new computer. He left with with 128MB so I\'m upgrading this POS.

Uh yeah...thanks again, Soully. :) I figured out that one of the little metal slips that go into the slots to close it shut was bent downward, and that\'s why it was being teh ghey.
Now I have 1 teh gig of teh RAM and it\'s so much faster. :p

say "teh" a few more times.

I don\'t teh know what you\'re teh talking about... :p

try getting it drunk and telling it you never felt this way about a computer before

That\'ll get her open. ;)
