I just pre-ordered 2 one at Gamestop and one at Software etc. I might go an dpre-order me a 3rd in hopes of being able to fund my own Xbox-360
Both places are expecting shortages, and have limits on the pre-orders they will take.
My local Software etc. said they are allowed to take 19 pre-ordersfor launch.
Gamestop told me they were allotted 20,000 for the entire chain and 15,000 had already been pre-ordered.
On the PS3 note Gamestop wasn\'t taking PS3 orders yet, but might be as early as next week. I forgot to ask software etc. about the PS3... Doh

Not yet.
Not sure if I will get any consoles at launch this time around.
-
I have a friend who pre-ordered his a few days ago. I\'m thinking of putting down the cash to reserve one just in case Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero turn out really well. If not then I can wait until a price drop and some platinum hits are available.
-
I\'m about to pre-order this weekend.
-
I was thinking it could be a ripe opportunity to make some cash selling one of the new consoles on ebay on launch day. I\'d hate to buy 2 or 3 xboxes and there not be a frenzy for them, although i\'m thinking there is gonna be.

You can always cancel your pre-order at the last minute if you don\'t think there\'s a buzz around it.

I will wait until launch games for both consoles are announced. I remember the last generation of launches, all three lacked any really stellar games, in my opinion.
With my PS2, I got.......
Summoner, Unreal Tourament, Tekken Tag Tournament, Ridge Racer V, Timesplitters and SSX.
Xbox.
Munch, Halo
NGC,,
Luigi\'s Mansion and Star Wars.
Know how many of those I actually liked? Yeah, one. It was Munch, go figure.
See no reason to bum rush the consoles at launch day .
-
I really liked the 1st Summoner.
SSX came out with the PS2 and that rocked IMO. Timesplitters was OK, but most of the PS2 title swere rushed.
I think we\'ll see huge improvements on launch titles this time around do to a more friendly architexture for the PS2 and MS\'s experience with Xbox.
Also you can cancel those pre-orders or sell the system at a profit to someone who can\'t wait. !!

I really liked the 1st Summoner.
You\'re like the only other person besides me that likes that game. ;)
-
Best part of Summoner?
"I wanna cast magic misslessssssssssss"
-
I completely forgot about that. :D
-
1st Summoner rocked.
Well, once you got past that first big ass city it did.
-
Man...upgrading all the crap in that city was really annoying. Back and forth, back and forth. Meh...
Haven\'t played the 2nd Summoner. Does it suck horribly?
-
Call me lame but I was plenty satisfied with the PS2 launch line up. SSX, TTT, RR5, Time Splitters, Fantavision, DOA2: Hardcore... the list goes on. I didnt own of of those but I enjoyed all of them. Perhaps its because i didnt own a Dreamcast, but I still played the crap out of it at my friends.
Either way, PS2 launch was more than enough for me.

The story was lame in Summoner 2, that is one area the 1st one triumphed over many games to date. I also much prefered the original chain attack battle system in the 1st Summoner over what they did in the 2nd.
The original definitely started out slow but 1/3 way through it started to pick up speed when you had 4 characters and were switching though them and setting up chain attacks, and magic etc... Towards the end of the game you were real busy.
I was hoping for more of the same in the 2nd with improvements in the graphics/frame rate, but they went and re-did the game and it just wasn\'t the same.

Hmm...sounds disappointing. I guess I\'ll hold off on Summoner 2.
