I thought this was intereseting and IMO a good 3rd party view of the power of PS3

In the wake of the consoles\' unveiling, some developers are already leaning towards one platform.
"I was shocked by how powerful the new consoles are," said Julian Eggebrecht, president of the San Rafael, California based game development company Factor 5. "They should really free our development."
Eggebrecht said his company -- which developed "Star Wars: Rogue Squadron" for the Nintendo GameCube -- would create games exclusively for the Sony PlayStation 3.
The choice boiled down to performance, Eggebrecht said at E3 in Los Angeles. His company has worked with Microsoft\'s Xbox 360, but found PlayStation 3\'s 3.2GHz Cell chip offered more processing power. The additional performance will allow the team at Factor 5 to more easily simulate the real world for a better game experience, he said.
Rogue Squandron was one of Gamecubes best lauch titles. It is interesting to me how fast Factor 5 has jumped on the PS3 bandwagon. They seem to be very impressed with the cell.

meh...they said gamecube had the best hardware.
We all know how Rebel Strike turned out.

As powerful as GC was, I couldn\'t even do a simple loop in my X-Wing.

I never played the Gamecube versions, but imo Rogue Sq 1 on N64 was great !
Too bad it \'s not comming to PS3 :(

You mean welcome back fine sir don\'t ya ?

Aren\'t they second party now?
Yeah, this guy did the same thing back when GC and Xbox were still being developed. He compared dev kits and that\'s how he came to his decision that the GC was more powerful. This is no surprise.

Nothing to be excited about. Factor 5 is full of themselves and loves press releases. I also remember when the president of F5 was saying Gamecube was the most powerful system.
Here\'s hoping for a decent game or two but I don\'t hold them in high regard at all.

Funny how things have changed over the past 6 years. When Rogue Squadron was announced it was the GC\'s gem, now Factor 5 is viewed in a completely differnt light.
I never followed the GC or its developers so I\'m ignorant on what Factor 5 has really accomplished

Nothing they helped develope the GCN sound engine made up all this rediculous crap about how developers would be able to create this amazon sound in 3d games. Turn out to be more BS.
Besides Star Wars: Rogue Squadron they have produced no other decent game on GCN.

Awesome, whatever they develop on the ps3 will be the best game ever!
.
.
.
just kidding!
However they did sound serious, another rumour is that Ninja Gaiden Development Team are also planning to do the same move
as well, could this lead to a Domino effect?

Well, they DID create awesome sound for Rogue Squadron 1 on N64.
N64\'s cartridge system was known for it\'s limited sound storage capabilities. Factor 5 managed to cram in all those SW tracks and sound effects in, for that time, amazing quality.
Credits where credits belong.

Ninja gaiden 2 was said to be a 360 title already. I am pretty sure I saw that on another forum.

Factor 5 created one good looking game on the NGC and that was it.
Nothing to get excited about.
