This isn\'t a suggestion thread but just a thread that I need to bitch in right now. My PS2 is really old (first model). Its having disk read errors on all types of discs now. This isn\'t the first disc read error problem either. It\'s done it before. It resulted in me opening the damn thing up and it worked afterwards. Now, Battlefront won\'t work (and I really want to play it), Timesplitters and others it takes 5 minutes ot read. I\'m gonna open it up again and clean it up.

shouldve called sony when u had the problem.
i had the same crap (was a first model) and they asked for the serial code on the back and they told me why the piece of poop wasnt working. After dealing with a little company bullshit because they want to do as little work as possible, they let me mail it to them and a week er 2 later they mailed it back and i havent had a problem since.
*waits for ps2 to crap out*

Well look at the bright side, once you do it the first time it should be cake (though annoying).

Try the disc read error thing again. I\'ve had to do it 2 or 3 times.

Search for a good Shop (http://www.gamefreax.de for Germany) and buy a new Laser (60 - 70 $).
Or it just might need an adjustment of the Laser-Lens, that should cost nothing.

I\'ll say it again, man i love HDloader.

I did. They wanted 119 dollars for repairs, plus shipping costs which would be like 150 total. I just hung up on them. I would do the laser thing right now but I am way too lazy to dick around with it today and tomorrow and anytime soon. Ah fudge it. I\'ll probably end up doing it tonight.
EDIT: Wierd. A lot of the problem games are working again. Puzzles me.

Why the f*ck would they think you\'d pay 150 bucks when you can get a new one for the same price? B*tches.

Maybe you were high when the errors occurred?

I think that was just before the first price drop to 200 or just after so I just laughed at her.

I don\'t smoke but drink. Maybe I was drunk but I don\'t remember drinking last night :( But seriously, all my games are separated into two piles, the ones that work and the ones that don\'t. My PS2 is tempermental. It can kiss my ass.

i just used a lens cleaner, when games were takin\' a bit long to upload....maybe you damaged it when you opened it up? i know you stated it worked after you did that, but now it doesn\'t work at all right? could\'ve been a delayed effect, then again who knows... i don\'t f**k around with s**t like that unless i know what i\'m doin\'...on another note, sony really needs to clean up their customer service...i keep hearin too many horror stories about them...
