I captured the pic on my ATI 7500 All-in-wonder card. So it showed too much details and thus...the pixels. :D On PSX, it\'s a little smoother. :)

I\'ve never played any FF games. I like role-playing, but don\'t like turn-based crap.

As funny as it may sounds, I am replaying FF7 again too on ps2.  I was putting in FF Tactics on the console, but it turns out i accidently put in ff7 disc 1 and the prelude music has gotten me.  Brings back good memories.  So I replay FF7 instead.

This thread has somewhat whetted my appetite for the FF series. After about a year of not playing any, I might just trawl my FF7 game out from the back of the cupboard, dust it off, and play it.

I just hope my memory cards still work, I have hardly used them since I got my PS2.

It\'s been that long since I played FF7, it will probably feel like a new game again.

those screen grabs off the console looks rather dark.  Heh, the ps2 output is kind of dark for American NTSC standard....It\'s not really ps2 fault since Japanese NTSC black level start at 0 IRE but American NTSC started at 7.5 IRE...

By the way, I am at the part where Aeris went to 7th Heaven\'s bar to protect Marlene and where Cloud and Tifa are going up the plate if that\'s what its called to stop the Turks from pushing the button that ignite the bomb and explode the entire plate...or whatever that thing call...

I wonder how far you guys are...if you still play this game...

don\'t get me wrong, FF7 is still one of the finest RPG\'s released, and i\'ll compare every new one to that standard

i just don\'t have the time/attention to sit thru it again

I don\'t understand how many people say that the FF7 graphic sucks since I thought i t looks nicer than FF8 in most cases.  Its true that they use superdeformed characters, I assum by superdeformed, they uses color that won\'t get pixelated as you zoom in but blur instead.

Beside the character having horse hands, i thought the graphic looks nice.  So are the special effects which put FF8 to shame in my opinion.  Like those magic spells and summons, damn they makes PSOne look good and worthy of owning.
Title: Lookie what I\'m playing
Post by: Unicron! on May 28, 2005, 08:50:49 PM
ff8\'s graphics are cleaner and the summon spells are more detailed in all aspects I believe. The art direction was better in FF7.

i agree with a few in here..i tried playin\' it again a few years ago..and it couldn\'t hold my interest like before...i\'m sure if i gave it a little more time i\'d probably be into it more...they need to make a sequel to that game....the ending was still kinda vague for me...........spolier!.... all i remember is tifa\'s tit-tays bouncin all over the place and some meteor crashin into the planet..........

I just got out of Midgar. Damn the game is a little easier now that I know what to expect. Listening to the new music outside of Midgar rekindled some old memories from 1997. :D

I actually tried to play FF7 about 5 years ago and I just couldn\'t get into it like mm. But recently, I have had this yearning for something to keep my mind occupied. I tried movie editing, playing some old PS2 games...then I saw FF7 and DING! That was it.

Enjoying now.

I got that, after spending ages raising and racing the special chocobo needed to get it, I finally got it and tried it out, it was by far the most powerul summon in the game, but it took ages for each turn, so I ended up not using it much. I only really used it to beat sephiroth at the end.

A couple of whacks with it finished the bitch off with absolute ease. I thought seph was one of the weaker bosses in the game.

I was hoping that too.  Hopefully, the graphic is similiar to FF7 CG...a bit cartoony but I like that looks than the more life-like realistic scene that square shows on demo.

Aww, I still remember the overwhelming feeling of freedom when I got out of Midgar the first time. I had no idea I\'d be exploring a whole world like that.

I\'m pathetic. I\'ve spent so much time on this game, playing one save file occasionally through the years. I have around 200 million Gil (the counter in the item screen can\'t display the number correctly anymore), at least three of all master level materias and 99 of almost every imaginable item in the game (W-Item trick). Plus I can honestly say I\'ve seen everything. I just needed to see every last little bit crammed on those discs.

Can\'t remember the stats, but my Cloud has a defence % of 99, so only 1 out of a 100 enemy attacks connect (unless critical hits). Madness!

I\'m still going to replay it from the very beginning some day, need to refresh the details about the story too.

Guilty. I killed Sephiroth on the first turn. That\'s how powerful my Cloud was. I believe I maxed out Knights of the Round materia. I was killing off that swamp serpent like it was a lil rabbit.

Only one monster I couldn\'t defeat was the Ruby dragon thing. Kept kicking out 2 of my team mates. Bitch.

Oddly, if you face off with Ruby with 2 guys already dead they won\'t get kicked out.

And indeed, Final Fantasy X... Ahem. WHO THE HELL NEEDS ALL 255 STATS FOR ALL CHARACTERS?! Well I shure as heck didn\'t, but got \'em anyways. I still didn\'t kill all the dark aeons and supertough monsters though. Might, some day. Some of the monsters are so hard that even 99,999 hits don\'t seem like total overkill, and the fights actually need to be approached with caution and tactics. Which I likes.

Okay, nothing to see here, everyone get back to reminiscing about FFVII.

I couldn\'t get to sleep last night, so I decided to have a crack at playing it again, I was on it for about 3-4 hours non-stop without realising.

I remember that happening the very first time I played it. I\'m almost up to the point where I\'m about set to enter the shinra HQ building.

Just out of curiosity, anyone playing it finding it hard to readjust to the controls?

I keep trying to play with the analog ps2 stick, it\'s hard as hell to get out of the habit of doing that now as it\'s second nature for me to use the sticks rather than the d-pad. Also, added to that, the buttons are all fucked up. With them in the default setting, it\'s almost the exact opposite of the other ff games. I keep finding myself closing the menu by mistake, and cancelling attempted changes to weapons and materia and shit.

For some reason, it won\'t let me calibrate the buttons to make it more familiar.

Lemme know if you need some hints on passwords or enemy skills you can learn or items to steal from enemies. :)

Cloud is level 23 and just defeated that swamp serpent called Midgar Zolom. But alas...its shadow caught me again and I was not able to defeat him the second time and we all died. :( So I didn\'t get to keep the enemy skill I acquired.

I\'m planning on getting past the swamp, via Chocobo and heading for the mountain with the eagle on top.

I know what enemy skill you are talking about.  Beta...

I remember I returned to that swamp place later in the game after i have a buggie car in the desert corel prison, i get aqualung first, then use the buggie to return to go to the ship, and transport me back to Junon, so i can get stuffs here that i haven\'t acquired yet such as learning white wind from the big bird, getting bolt ring from a treasure in the sleeping man in the cave, learning beta from the snake...etc...that was quite some times ago since i last play the game.  I haven\'t play the game much lately.  I am still inside midgar.

Also, I still haven\'t learned all the enemy skills yet, not sure if there were a time that i learned all of them, but i doubt it.

ADDED:  Oh i forgot to mention this, i also learned the enemy skill that is like a MBarrier and Barrier with haste combine skill on the beaches before i get transport back to Junon...

Are you stuck on a maze in city of the ancient?

I go to that place easily since i use the guidebook back in 1999, and later on as i replay the game, i pretty know where to head to pass the maze.  If I got stuck, I back up and try a different direction and eventually i find my way out.

But it shouldn\'t be that hard.  If you are stuck on the clock, I remember number 6 leads to where sephiroth headed, and you fight a boss here, i believe the boss is some sort of red dragon.  After that, head to number 12 to fight this cave monster.

The rest of the numbers on the clock either lead to a treasure chest, a dead end, or to a mini boss, or enemy, or back to the maze where you can get this  item to where i believe its call a ribbon (one of my friend\'s favorite accesory, its also my favorite accesory)...

whoa, i couldn\'t believe i remember that many.  I guess FF7 layout is so great and fun that i remember it well.  The side quests are entertaining than some of the FF series that i have played.

Oh I see, the lunar harp is kind of tricky.  You hire people and excavate the area to get it.  Honestly, thinking about it, i don\'t know if could have make it on my own without the strategy guide book on that one.  I hired 5 people in the game to digged in 5 different places in an X mark fashion and they find it for me.  Just be sure to pick "lunar harp" as the item you wanted to dig.

Damn...I literally am using the hell out of the Enemy Skill Materia as it has Beta, Aqualung and the ??? spell. The ??? spell is probably the most powerful spell I have.

Why?

If the materia holder\'s full health is 2000hp and his current damaged health is at 500hp, using that ??? spell = 1500hp! And at the cost of only 3 magic points! I don\'t bother restoring Cloud\'s health anymore. If he gets killed and is brought back with a Phoenix Down and is standing with only 233hp....using that ??? spell will uterly destroy or at least cause a big dent on the enemy. Too bad it\'s only for one enemy.

I just started this game today and whenever you enter a battle it goes so slow!

I played it a couple of years ago on my p.c and back then I tought it was just my computer lagging but it\'s normal.

I\'ll probably get used to it but I\'ve played FF X and FF X-2 and they were a lot faster.Seeing as how I\'ll be spending a lot of time in battles I hope I get used to it!

I even changed the battle speed to fastest but that only effects the speed of each turn.

Oh well, just thought I\'d check if you guys felt the same.

Thanks.

how about try to go to sleep in the house on the path that lead to the right between the 3 pathway.  After you take a nap, get enemy skill materia hidde behind one of the 3 beds and then go to middle pathway that lead you to a spiral staircase.

I guess that how it works, you need to take a nap before you can enter spiral stairway.

That\'s very very useful for quite some time. Stupid me...I was running around trying to Master level all the materia...when I JUST NOW remember that I have weapons and armor that DOUBLE the AP for materia. Don\'t make the same mistake as me. USE THEM! NOW! I\'m in the Lost City...up thar in the north. I\'ll soon learn the bestest enemy skill yet....BAD BREATH! WOOHOO!

thanks for the reminder, but I do remember about weapons that double or even triple the AP.  Such as Cloud Apocalypse\'s sword that can triple the AP...which can be had later in the game...much later...

I stole some good items from while in Midgar such as Aeris\'s Striking Staff, Carbon Bangle, and Cloud\'s Hardedge.

Well, while you\'re on teh first disk, do you plan on getting all of Aeris\' limit breaks? If you plan to, do NOT go to Temple of Ancients. The best place to level up and get your limits to fill is on the set of islands that the Tiny Bronco can reach. It\'s the islands south east of the Condor Fort. Plenty of high level baddies there that give a lot of experience points and APs.

As a reminder about Aeris (spoiler) [sp]her role ends at disc 1[/sp]

The jungles around Fort Condor is a good place for Aeris to level up as soon as I am headed to Junon.  While I am at it, there is a big chance I may encounter Yuffie and try to get her in my party too.  Then my other favorite place is the jungle before i head to Cid\'s town.  There are a lot of enemies there in the jungle like the mushroom look alike, they usually comes in pack of 5 and a flying enemy behind it too.  And my last memorable place is the jungle around temple of the Ancients, but the enemies there are quite annoying.  Maybe the islands that you mention maybe easier on the last place that I would settle down to level up and get Aeris to learn new Limit Breaks.

I just got the Highwind.

I recorded the FMV of the Weapons leaving the Promised Land, which left the Highwind in its wake. Remember how Tifa lost her balance and her tits were all jiggling around? Their freaking as large as basketballs, that\'s why! Once I find a place to host it, I put up the link. Also have the FMV of Junon\'s canon blasting one of the Weapons right in its face and killing it!

make sure only one guy is alive when you fight ruby and have the one alive with final move (or whatever it\'s called) and phoenix combo.  Knights of the round...then just pummel him with quadra cas buhamet zero.  I was around level 60 something when I did it.  (It\'s been quite a number of years since though).

Emerald is simple knights of the round/mime combination until he dies.

I\'m on my first playthrough of the game.I started playing it last week on my PS2.

I just got out of "The Cave Of The Gi"

When I encountered the boss,Gi Nittak, I took the lame way out and gave him a x-potion(instant kill).

The reason for this embarasing action :fro:
was that I had Red XIII in my party for this part of the game(it was manditory) but I hadn\'t used him a lot in the game.

So when I equiped him with some materia I just slapped some summon materia on him.I later discovered that I didn\'t have any restore materia on anybody in my party!Because normally Barret is the healer and he has all the good stuff.

So when I got to the boss I didn\'t feel like dying because then I would have to do the whole cave all over again.

I read on Gamefaqs that you can give him a x-potion to instantly kill him so that what I did.

Heh! I was soooo tempted to use the x-potion or phoenix down! (used to do that all the time with those ghost enemies in FFTactics though *shurgs*)

I\'m supposed to get the last Huge Materia which is in the Underwater Reactor. But I want muh chocobo...now! Last night, I spent at least an hour getting my freshly caught Good Chocobo and Great Chocobo winning the races. Getting to A ranking is easy. But beating the A ranked competition is HARD since my chocobos was slow as molasses but enormous in stamina. So even when I press dash (with the R1+R2 cheat), I still can\'t leave them behind!

Anyway...both are ranked S now. They\'ll celebrate by having hot chocobo seks tonight. I\'ll be sure to get some Barry White music going and a camcorder. :)

I just got out of the Shinra Mansion and defeated Lost Number.I also recruited Vincent.

I check faqs in order to get the secret characters like Yuffie and Vincent because I want to get the most out of the game on my first playthrough. If I didn\'t check the faqs I would have never gotten the 2 characters.

I must say that FF VII is turning out to be one of the best RPG\'s I\'ve ever played.I\'m only on the first disc but I love the story. The whole Sephiroth, reunion,Jenova storyline really grips me by the throat and the characters are lovely.

The strange thing is:I used to really dislike turn-based fighting.I always was more of a Zelda,Secret Of Mana gamer(still am).

But Chrono Trigger got me into turn-based and you have to think alot more about how you fight + you have to plan strategies on how to defeat a certain enemy.

After that I played FF-X and FF-X 2 and now I\'m playing FF VII.

All hail Squaresoft!!

The best place in the game to level up is on the island of Mideel. And in the crater. Actually, if you want to level your materia up, go to the crater, there\'s a couple of creatures there that give you a LOT of AP or whatever. They\'re like little pots, or something.

And wtf? Never use a guide on your first time through the game. If you want to get the most out of the game your first time through, there\'s no point in playing it a second time. Plus, if you can kill the final boss in a single hit, it\'s just stupid.

And Apocalypse? That\'s the sword that has 3x AP or whatever in it\'s materia slots? Sounds nice, but it only has 2 slots, doesn\'t it? Waste of time, just use a regular sword to level up. Unless you only want to level up a couple of them..

Now I too am being extremely tempted to start it back up..

3 slots....I can\'t believe I remember that.
Title: Lookie what I\'m playing
Post by: Paul2 on June 20, 2005, 08:42:16 PM
even i can\'t believe i remember a lot of the secrets without using the strategy guide.  I never have a strategy guide except my used to be friend let me borrow his book on my first time playing the game back in 1998/1999.

After using the strategy guide book for the first time through the game, and some great tips from my friends, I couldn\'t believe I remember a lot of secrets on this game than any Final Fantasy series for that matter without using the book later on after i beat the game the first time around

About Apocalypse having only 3 slots, that\'s no problem since other characters can equip a weapon that double or triple the APs too.  its not like you have only one characters playing the game.  You have 3 characters on screen.

And I believe some armor can also double and triple the APs too.  That means there are enough room to equip our favorite materias to level them up fast.

I agree that inside the crater is a great place to level up our APs such as the beating Gold Pots and the 3 orange lookalike enemies inside the crater.  Killing them level up our materias very fast such as knight of the round, phoenix, mime, etc.

The Gold Pot need elixir, I remember back then, I throw a megalixer to a couple of Gold Pots, and try to hit them.  Damn, I got 0 pt for the damage on them.  They wanted elixir and megaelixir won\'t work...weird but cool nonetheless.  If elixirs ever run out, I can use W-Item and increased them up to 99.....

Sorry for this long messy post, just feels like sharing.:D

I finally got a Gold Chocobo! I had to feed my first two Chocs with the expensive ass Sylis Greens, get them to level up their speed and stamina...then race them to Class S, Mate them twice for one blue and one green offspring, feed both sylkis greens, race them to S Class, mate them for a black choc and then capture a wonderful Choc from snowy north, feed both and race both to S class...mate them....GOLD CHOCOBO!

WHOOOT! cost me a ton of money and time....the racing was fun too! :) I just got Knights of the Round. Need to get the quadra and mime matera now. Hmmm....I know those are in caves too. But where?

I can\'t believe how much I\'m enjoying this game!

I was thinking:Even though the graphics are prehistoric to me(I\'ve played FF-X) I\'m so loving this game.

So imagine how people must have liked it when it first came out because then the graphics were wonderfull. So then you had the whole package:Graphics, story, characters, gameplay .

I can see how this was a reason to buy a PS 1 in those days.

The only time I don\'t like it is when I don\'t know where to go.Because when I have a set destination I know the random battles are for a reason(to get me closer to the destination)But when I don\'t know where to go the battles annoy the hell out of me because they serve no purpose(other then leveling up)

I also love how some quests are not manditory and they tie in with characters that aren\'t manditory either. For example:I have Yuffie in my party and she\'s great.I\'m thinking of doing the Wutai sidequest soon to get some cool items and learn more about her.

One question:I just entered Gold Saucer for the second time(I have to get the Keystone).

Do I really need to buy a special pass wich will allow me free entrance for 30.000 Gil?
I mean a normal pass is 3000 Gil.
So let\'s say that I have to enter GS 3 times in the main storyline and that I go back there 3 times just for the mini-games.Then I\'m better of NOT buying the special pass.

So unless I need to enter GS 10 times in the main storyline(wich would be lame) I don\'t see the advantage of a lifelong pass.

Cheers!

I bought the 30,000 gil pass. Mainly coz I needed to to race my different chocobos there. Granted, I could have made less than 10 trips but I had to make my Chocobos Class S before breeding. It evened out for me in the end.

Yep. Back then, this was THE game to get. And Sony advertized the hell out of it. I saw a commercial for FF7 between rounds in a televised BOXING MATCH!

You should have done the Wutai quest on the first disc, then you would have gotten a really powerful weapon for Cid (Dragoon Lance). Can\'t believe I remember that.

I remember my first time through the game when that bitch stole all my materia. I was about to go out to the Temple of Ancients and I was just like "wtf".. Awesome quest though.

Alright, I\'mma play through the game again when I finish KOTOR.

Hmm.. who did I use in my party my first time through the game? Cloud obviously, Cid was my other favourite. Might have been Tifa, because I always wanted to get into her pants, not Aeris\'.

Oh, and that story about Barret having all your healing magic (why Barret?), you know you can actually transfer Materia from people not in your party to those that are? I didn\'t figure that out until my second time through the game.

OH, another thing I didn\'t figure out until my second time through, the single most useful items in the game: Tents. I didn\'t use a single one my first time through the game, just to add to the difficulty.
Title: Lookie what I\'m playing
Post by: GmanJoe on June 21, 2005, 03:42:55 PM
I never knew what Tents was for til I tried it the 2nd time around.

I did the Wutai on the first disc. Wow. That was a challenge for a fledgeling Yuffie. I even finished the Golden Saucer monster thing with Cloud. That enemy skill "????" saved my ass more than I can count.

With the Gold Chocobo, I\'m gonna do the Ancient Forest trip. As far as I recall, there were hopping frogs in that forest.

First time through the game i didnt know any of the secrets didnt get vincint and had no idea what or how to use half of the materia in the game. A lot harder than now.

Right now I\'m up to the northern crater but i\'m just going around finishing up everything, gonna go kill the weapons get all the secrets and such.

Also I took one shot at sephiroth when I first got there, and has anyone else been hit by super nova? It\'s pretty cheap IMO. Also it takes about five minutes. Any hints for that?

Bob\'s Hardware:

I know you can transfer materia but sometimes in the game you\'re forced to take a certain character.

In my case Red VIII,I hadn\'t used him so I slapped some summon-materia on him.Later I discovered that I forgot to put Restore on someone in my party of three.

On tents:In the begining I didn\'t use them much because you HAVE to use them at savepoints. When you get to the worldmap however, you can save everywhere so I just use my tents while I\'m on the world-map and then save.

I just defeated Demon\'s Gate in the Temple Of Ancients.I put a Ribbon on Aeris during the fight.

We al know Aeris leaves your party after this to search for Sephiroth alone.

I\'ve read that you loose the equipment she had on!

So now I lost my Ribbon!

I\'m gonna load up another file and hope that it\'s near the fight with Demon\'s Gate otherwise I\'ll go on with this file.

I got chocobuckle....and it\'s not worth the gil to buy the mimmet greens with. The damage incurred by Chocobuckle = the number of escapes you make from a battle.

So, if you\'ve escaped 3 times, the damage of chocobuckle is three hit points.

Not even a mosquito bite level.

Oh fuck you guys. All these memories coming back. Clouds Mythril Sword which you get soon after leaving Midgar is the best looking sword in the game! I just remembered that..

Demon\'s Gate.. that was the hardest boss battle for me. If your level is as low as mine usually is he\'s near impossible. It was even worse my second time through the game, because I had Vincent in my party, and his limit break turned him into a monster which attacked with nothing but fire attacks... which would just heal the Demon.

Fuck, I just remembered how the first time you fight Jenova (Birth) and the batle has Aeris\' theme playing during the whole fight... :crying:

There\'s a glitch in the game...or maybe some lazy programming where if you enter the Church where Cloud first meets Aeris, there\'s a half second image of her in the aisle. This happens also while Aeris is still in your party in the first disk. :) People thought it was intentional. As it was intended to be a breif apperition or ghost of Aeris.

So, when I started playing this game again a couple weeks ago, the part where Cloud was sneaking out of Aeris\'s house, I had Cloud go to the Church. Sure enough...the image of her was there. Then I went to the area where Aeris finds Cloud and they team up. Took her and cloud back to the Church....Aeris in the aisle. :D

MYTH BUSTED! :D

I got through the Ancient Forest last night. Wow...talk about frustrating. It was fun...sorta. That left to right stage sorta reminded me of the old "Abe\'s Oddysee" game of puzzle/problem solving.

I picked up Cloud\'s three slot weapon but with triple AP points. Gonna master the hell out of KOTR materia along with Quadra and Mime.  The three deadly materias...until I get Ultima.

Well....to my great relieve I still have my Ribbon!

I\'ve been messing around in Wutai and I\'ve managed to get back my materia and defeating Rapps(the dragon in the cave)

It only took 3 limit-breaks(one from every character) to kill him.Luckily I filled them up before I battled Rapps.

I also tried to conquer the 5-stage pagoda but I got killed by the last enemy who is,as we all know, Yuffie\'s father.

He kept healing himself and I don\'t have the Reflect skill yet.In fact I forgot to buy the Barrier materia al together!

So I\'m gonna do that after I get Reflect and then I\'m sure he\'ll be a piece of cake.

When does the "pagoda quest" become unaccesable?Because I plan to do it later.I\'ve just entered Bone Village wich means I\'ll be switching to Disc 2 pretty soon.

Thanks.

You can beat him without the Reflect! Just poison him. It\'ll keep knocking off his HP ever 5 seconds. Use the enemy skill ???? and do not heal completely so the ???? spell is more lethal.

There is this enemy skill that i forgot its name that only uses about 30 MP that does haste, barrier, and Mbarrier to all party.

I forgot the name of this enemy skill but you can learn it by using Manipulation materia I believe that\'s what its called on the beach near Costa Del Sol.  have your either weapon or armor slot equip with Enemy skill and Manipulate materia, go to the beach, manipulate the beach slug enemy, and use this enemy skill that i forgot the name on your party.  Then voila, you learned a valuable enemy skill.

Also, the beach around Wutai area, there is this turtle that you can manipulate and learn its "Death Force" enemy skill.  And also around the Wutai around grassland, there is this yellow grass lookalike that you can manipulate and learn its hammer enemy skill that i forgot its name but it looks like a hammer.  Very useful enemy skill, this enemy skill drain 100 MP out of the person you want to absorb off its MP.  Could be useful to some bosses that rely heavily on magic attacks.  Such as the last boss that you fight in the 5 stage paroga or whatever that called in Wutai.

Speaking of which, I just remember i skipped an enemy skill called "L4 suicide" that I can learned by fighting this enemy that looks like a squirrel back in around the Ranch area.  The problem is, I can\'t manipulate it, the squirrels are immune to it, and its tricky to make it use the "L4 suicide" enemy skill.

Oh forgot to tell you this, you can actually go back to Wutai area and finish the bosses any time you like.  Even if you on disc 3 and your last boss is Sephiroth, you can still returned back to Wutai and complete that side quest there.  I believe it doesn\'t limit you on time.

I believe you learn this enemy skill in the mansion in Tifa and Cloud\'s hometown.

There is this weigh lookalike enemy skill that does "?" on you and you learn it.

I got that earlier today, it\'s called big guard, but it costs 56mp.

It\'s pretty useful, but I\'d only really use it on tough enemies, it\'s too much effort to use it on weak-medium enemies.

Yeah.....I have all the Enemy Skills that Paul2 is talking about.

I must admit the game gets a lot easier with spells like White Wind,Big Guard,Trine etc. These are all skills learned from enemies.

I\'m just gonna continue the main storyline for now.I\'ve arrived on the northern continent and I\'ve just entered Bone Village.

One more note:The humor in this game really surprised me!

I know FF games are very serious in general but FF VII really captures the best of both worlds(seriousness and humour).

I think you get steal materia in the sewer in Midgar.   Where this Don Corneo Guy pulled the switch and you and your friends, Aeris and Tifa fall into the sewer.

You can also buy one too in Junon.

Well I did the second Yuffie sidequest(pagoda) and this time I made it.

I threw an item that casts BIO 3 on Yuffie\'s father and after a long fight he fell and I got the leviathan summon and ofcourse the item to learn Yuffie\'s 4th limit break.

I just popped in Disc 2 so I saw the tragic scene with Aeris. It was sad but I knew it was coming. After all....the game\'s been out for years and I\'ve read numerous Faqs.

I always thought Aeris would die at the end of the game but it turns out she dies at the end of Disc 1.

It\'s strange how you get the Princess Guard so late. The princess guard is Aeris ultimate weapon and I got it just before battling Demon\'s Gate.

After Demon\'s Gate she dissapears and doesn\'t come back.So.......then why does she have an ultimate weapon?

Unless she returns later in the game.

Just compare it to any other materia you\'ve had. It\'s one of the first materia\'s you should pick up, so slightly less than the fire/ice that you should have gotten at the very start of the game.

Metal Gear: She has it because everyone has a Level 4 limit break. There\'s plenty of opportunity to use it if you decide to do a lot of side-quests (such as the Wutai sidequests) before going into the Temple of the Ancients.

It\'s a fucking kickass Limit Break, too..

Dammit. I just won the worst materia ever. "ENEMY AWAY". I don\'t know why I chose that as a winning prize. I\'m trying to master all of the materia...and this materia is the worst kind to master for obvious reasons. At first, I thought it was an item like a ring but not a materia! HOW CAN I GET "ALL MASTER MATERIA" NOW?????

I\'m currently at Gaea\'s Cliff.

A question:when I gain control of the Highwind(wich is any minute now) I plan to go to The Gold Saucer.

There I\'ll go to the battle square and I\'ll try to get 32.000 points to buy Cloud\'s Omnislash.

How hard is it to get 32.000 points at this point in the game?

I plan to equip Cloud with the best weapon and armor(obviously) and probably a Ribbon.I\'m currently level 40 or so.
Title: Lookie what I\'m playing
Post by: GmanJoe on June 24, 2005, 09:04:00 AM
32 points? Dunno what you\'re talking about. But for Battle square, Cloud got plastered by poison (I ran out of antidotes which wasted too much of my Hi-poition and some X-potions).  The Enemil skill ???? was killing enemies easily since I had Cloud equiped with two HP Pluses and one Magic Plus. Ribbon is optional as that can be nullified by the handicap. It\'s best to have plenty of antidotes and that anit-frog thing (princess kiss?) and plenty of potions. I didn\'t rely too much on magic.

I was lucky the handicap didn\'t nullify the yellow materia (enemy skill).

The thing that really kills me in the battle square is a combo of getting lvl downs where I start at 68 then fall down to 38 with a broken weapon and 1/4 life.

Just remember to buy plenty of Antidotes, Soft, anti-frog thingy and lots of hi-potions and x-potions. User the ???? skill to kill of the baddies (but it\'s no use if your HP is filled).

The one thing that bugs me about progressing through the game is Fort COndor. I love that little mini game. I know it\'s also in the Gold Saucer but I forgot where it is. Is it in the arcade? I can\'t find it there. Anyway....I had tons of fun with that.

I just got out of the Whirlwind Maze and that means I saw the 30 minutes scene with Sephiroth explaining to Cloud who he is exactly.

He explained everything to Cloud while you saw a burning Nibbelheim in the background and also showed him the photo with Zach instead of Cloud.

I must say that these were the most intense and cool 30 minutes of story-explanation and twist and turns I\'ve ever seen in a videogame. The story goes so deep and it\'s so gripping.

Plus it ended with that whole kick-ass CG movie of Weapon unleashing his power and the Highwind narrowly escaping.

So....I\'m now on the Highwind.

I love this game!

Cid
Barret

The rest goes in this order:
Red XIII
Yuffie (ranged attacks)
Tifa
Cait

Vincent does no good for me coz he can\'t be controlled during his limits.

yeah, lets hope Square will remake FF7 on PS3 and try to perfect it.  Or at least i want everything to be 1920 x 1080p running at a constant smooth 60fps all the time.  Of course 24 bits color too.

btw, My favorite in this order:

-Cloud
-Aeris

-Cid
-Vincent
-Tifa
-Barret
-Red XIII

My party consists of these 3 characters:

-Cloud
-Barret
-Yuffie

I like how all the characters that aren\'t in your main party still receive exp and levl up with you.

Because at Gaea\'s Cliff I was forced to use Tifa and I hadn\'t used her a lot.So I thought she would do pitifull damage.

To my surprise she did the most damage of them all!

This is because I still buy the best weapons for everyone, even if they are not in my main party.

The only negative thing is that her Limit-Break is still lvl. 1 but this is logical.

As I said I almost have control of the Highwind so I\'m gonna try and acquire Cloud\'s and Tifa\'s lvl. 4 limit break manual.

After this I\'ll probably go to Mideel to advance the storyline.

I just aquired the submarine and I\'m going to do the Gelnika side-quest.I\'ve already been there but I\'m going back today.

There are some very good items in there like Yuffie\'s ultimate weapon and Cid\'s lvl 4 limit break.
When I got out of the Gelnika yesterday there was this huge monster swimming right in front of me.He wasn\'t there before. From what I\'ve read I assume this is Weapon.

I defeated the Carry armor to get the submarine and he was surpisingly easy.Alex\'s FAQ mentioned that he was one of the toughest bosses in the game so i came prepared.I had all my limit-breaks filled up including Yuffie\'s and Barret\'s lvl4 limit break.

First I got my defense up by casting Big Guard. Then I unleashed my Limit-Breaks on him and after that I just used my most powerfull magic attacks like Ultima,Bolt 3,Comet,Phoenix etc.

He went down pretty fast.

Meanwhile the storyline went from tragic to less tragic.

Tifa and Cloud were in the lifesteam together and Tifa was in Cloud\'s subconscious trying to make him remember. We learn that Cloud was with Sephiroth and Zack as a Shinra soldier so he watched all the events.

My question.Did Cloud know he wasn\'t Zack and just made the story up on purpose(less tragic) or did he actually think he was Zack, because of all the experiments on him with Jenova cells, and he got his memory\'s mixed up with reality(tragic)?

My theory is that he actually thought he was Zack untill he remembered(when Tifa was in his subconscious) he was a soldier at the time.

When Cloud was telling the story,of him and Sephiroth reaching Nibbelheim, to everyone why didn\'t Tifa say:"That wasn\'t you who was with Sephiroth,it was Zack"?

Was she afraid what it might do to him?

Aargg........so many questions.
Title: Lookie what I\'m playing
Post by: GmanJoe on June 27, 2005, 04:18:45 AM
I also tried to get an understanding of Cloud\'s history. But the story has too many flaws and inconsistensies that I just skim through most of the dialogue.

However, my theory is that Cloud being affected by Mako poisoning may have caused him to become a memory sponge since he was wounded in the same area where Zack died. Even Tifa was slightly affected but she never entered the area where Jenova was being held at.

As for bosses, remember to check if there is anything to steal before finishing them. I stole a couple of armors from the Ultima Weapon you gotta fight about 5 times.  That\'s the one that flies about. I also managed to learn his enemy skill. Forgot the name.

Right now, my party is so lethal since they all have Counter Materia that physical attacks by the enemies have shortened the regular battles significantly. :D

About to re-enter Midgar for a stroll down memory lane. Killed off Diamond Weapon easily.
Title: Lookie what I\'m playing
Post by: cloud345 on June 27, 2005, 10:50:33 AM
Cloud was part of a jenova experiment set up by hojo which made him believe he was Zack. He was injected with jenova cells in order to try and make a sephiroth clone. Hojo thought the experiment was a failure so he didnt give cloud a number and let him go on with his life. The reason why cloud thought he was Zach was because of the jenova cells. Then when Sephiroth and the weapons and jenova all met up at the crater and everyone was there Hojo revealed his Jenova Reunion experiment(all the people in the black cloaks and cloud). This is also where Hojo finds out the Cloud\'s experiment was a success.

So now cloud relizes he is an experiment that was considered a failure.

hmm, interesting story there that kind of clear up my confusion of understanding the story too.  I understand the story better now...

anyway, Gmanjoe, I think the enemy skill you learn from weapon is gigashadow, name sound familiar?:p

BTW, for some strange reason, My FF7 Save file was corrupted.  It was deleted.

while playing a different save file for my nephew and nieces, I save it on my 3rd file as my 1st file is an old FFVII file in disc 3.  2nd file is my recent game that I save while in the ship that take me to Costa Del Sol.  The 3rd save file was the file i play new for my nephew/nieces.  I save the 3rd save file while in Midgar, I open it up, and realize my 2nd save file was deleted.  I thought i accidently save my 3rd file over my 2nd one.  So, yesterday, i brought the game and the disc over my nephew/nieces house and play it until i finally got out of Midgar again, and last night, i save it again.  the screen froze, and the file wasn\'t save.

And I reset the game and check the save file,  this time file 2 was missing as if it were deleted.  Only my old save 1 file is still there.  weird.  Something is going on with my psOne memory card.  This is a Sony brand memory card with 15 save files and this is probably the first time i ever experienced something like this on sony memory card.

So now, if I want to play FFVII again, I guess I have to play it all over again from the beginning.  *sigh*...

while playing a different save file for my nephew and nieces, I save it on my 3rd file as my 1st file is an old FFVII file in disc 3.  2nd file is my recent game that I save while in the ship that take me to Costa Del Sol.

*sigh*...

Sorry about your save file. Hmmm....I might have to save mine twice. I know I saved one just before I started the Chocobo breeding but that\'s early in Disk 2 when Cloud is still babbling in that hospital. At least he got a good blow job from Tifa....well....it looked like she was giving him head.

I just entered the subway tunnels of Midgar again. But instead of heading north in the tunnel to initiate the Turk battle, I head south and picked up the W-Summon materia! I put that on Cloud\'s triple points AP slot and battled the Turks for a base point of 800AP! THAT\'S 2400AP for the W-Summon! I need two if I plan to finally kill Ruby.

I\'ve never defeated Ruby. Emerald I have defeated back in 1997 but Ruby kept killing me. This was when FF7 was still new and no one yet knew about killing off yer two companions for the Ruby battle. This time...I will defeat Ruby before disk 3. :D

If I remember well when Cloud mentioned "his" story with Sephiroth at Nibelheim Tifa was indeed puzzled,She did say later in the game that she found Cloud\'s story strange.

The reason why she didnt mention anything is probably because she couldnt even remember him being there at all.She didnt know he was one of the soldiers. She didnt know he was there. So how did he knew all this?Something wasnt right. She wasnt sure if it was her that didnt remember things right.

I just got the W-Summon and Cloud\'s Omniflash Limit at the Battle Square in gold Saucer.

I should have wone earlier but sometimes the final battle will have the pirate ship thing tossing me away. That\'s cheating! Gonna go master the materias and take on Emmi.

Just got out of wutai myself after doing the side quest. That\'s got to be one of the shittiest bits of FF7, I could hardly be arsed with all that chasing around, but once I\'d started, I thought I might as well carry on, as the only reason I went was to get the leviathon materia.

I did the pagoda levels without too much jip, except for the last one, the inconsiderate twat kept healing himself...  bastard. So I was like on that last level for about 15 minutes.

I think I\'m going to do some serious leveling up on the wutai continent before I move on. It seems pretty decent for leveling up purposes, and you get some good gil payouts and xpotions as well, so it\'s not all that bad.

When you get the Tiny Bronco, go th the map\'s southeast islands. There\'s a jungle there that gives out at a minimum of 320 AP for your materias. Of course, your people level up quite fast too. I used my double and triple counting weapons and armor for fast materia growth.

Yes. Excellent EXCELLENT place to level up and master your materias. Stay in the jungle coz the grassland has this chicken looking horse that casts confuse and that creature is solo and give only 80AP points. The jungle has no less than 3 creatures that give 240AP points. 4 creatures yield 320 total.

You can\'t get to the jungle with the tiny bronco, it\'s on higher ground surrounded by cliffs

there\'s a beach near there, but I can\'t get to it.

You gotta go towards Junon....it had be stumped for a while too. The islands near Junon will lead you to Mideel.

I got on the island itself that mideel is on, but I can\'t get onto the higher ground where the forest is. There is no way that I can get the plane round to the side where the beach is that will let me access it.

I\'m almost up to the Hojo bossfight.

I\'ve been going after Ultimate Weapon on disc 2.I\'ve fought him like 3 times but he stopped at the northern crater and when I went there the main storyline continued(where it turns out that Caith Sith is Reeves).

Anyway some guy on the Gamefaqs forum said that I have to fight the final form of Ultimate Weapon on disc 3 so that\'s what I\'m gonna do.

I kept checking Cosmo Canyon to see if he showed up because I knew Cosmo Canyon was it\'s final stopping point.

He didn\'t show so now I\'m gonna do it on disc 3.

I did some sidequests while I was waiting for Ultimate Weapon.

I did the second part of Vincent\'s sidequest and I leveled up a bit at the Mideel area.

I put the materia that I wanted to level up in Cid\'s weapon(triple exp).I never used Cid uptill now but this is a good way to level up materia fast and get some new limit breaks for Cid.

I beat Ultima Weapon on Disc 2. He flies around mountain ranges and will rest above craters and such. You gotta fight him 2 more times for a total of 5 battles.

Be aware though....Ultima will die using Shadowflare and take huge chunk of it\'s killer\'s HP. I\'d put the Protect Ring on Cloud so he\'s got physical/magical barrier up automatically. Save after each battle. The 5th and final battle will be at Cosmo Canyon.

Post by: Metal Gear on June 30, 2005, 10:14:37 AM
Well I finally beat Ultimate Weapon.

I also finished the game this evening.

I was in the northern crater and I just placed my Save Crystal in the room where your whole party is.According to Alex FAQ this was the pest place for the Save Crystal.

Then I read in another FAQ

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE YOUR SAVE
CRYSTAL IN THIS ROOM.  THERE IS A HIGH DEGREE OF PROBABLILITY YOU WILL SCREW
UP YOUR SAVE FILE AND NOT BE ABLE TO CLIMB BACK OUT OF HERE.  YOU HAVE BEEN
WARNED.

Well I\'ve climbed out of the crater just now so my save file isn\'t screwed.I\'m gonna do some stuff at Gold Saucer etc.

Question:It appears my save file isn\'t messed up but could there still be problems with it?

If you read the plot analysis of the game on Gamefaqs it turns out there are numerous "secret scenes" that explain a bit more about the storyline.

http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/final_fantasy_vii_plot.txt

Especially the "Zack and Clouds Escape from Nibelheim" story is cool.

I\'ve got a question:The scene where Sephiroth,Zack and Cloud are at Nibelheim and Cloud throws Sephiroth in the abbys.

Sephiroth stabs Cloud in the chest with the sword but he survives.

How exactly?
Title: Lookie what I\'m playing
Post by: cloud345 on June 30, 2005, 07:38:25 PM
Because cloud was injected with jenova cells which made him stronger is my guess.

Or since it\'s a game people dont have to die from being stabbed with a sword so they just didnt kill him.

WORSHIP ME!

For I have turned Emerald and Ruby into my jail bitches! Emi was much much harder. Ruby was so easy, I just killed off two of my comrades, then picked a fight with Ruby, then used Hades on him to petrify him....used KOTR til he woke up, Hades again, KOTR...repeat.

In fact, I should have picked a fight with Ruby first.

Hades on Ruby is a very very low grade hit, like less than 200hp. But the summon will cast a Pentragram with a Grim Reaper toiling over a bubbling couldron, where it will cast its flame and petrifying curse. The effect on Ruby, despite its extremely light hit, is enormous in that the affect lasts up to two KOTR from one person, Cloud.

Now...imagine, it took me 6 casts of KOTRs from Cloud (and Hades for every 2 KOTRs)...before I decided to awaken my two companions from their "deaths". This time, I had the two Mime Cloud\'s summons. That\'s 6 KOTRs before Ruby broke its curse...only to be petrified again. Its cheating...but that long battle with Emi had me a bit skittish for a fair fight.

Also, I had MP Absorb connected to my Master Summon (or mastered KOTR) so that I never run out. The absorption for each KOTR is close to 1000 magic points. Basically, you never run out of magic.

It didn\'t take long actually. In the 3rd disc, when you go into the Northern cave to meet with Sephiroth, there are creatures called Magic Pots that give out 1000 AP each. With the weapons slots and Armor slots doubling or tripling that amount, it doesn\'t take long.

BTW....you can get the Master Summon Materia from the old man in the town called Kalm. The nearest town to Midgar. You gotta defeat Emerald to get it. He also gives you the underwater materia (which will remove the 20 minute counter vs Emerald) if you morph that pirate ship enemy in the underwater tunnel in Junon.

Post by: Paul2 on July 05, 2005, 08:25:15 PM
hey, i know that.  You morph the pirate ship into a book.  Kind of hard to do it as he do something that remove a character.  If the character he remove have morph, then you have to go look for him and fight away.  I remember I have to use sense on him to see how many HP he have left before I can do morph.

Um....sorry. It\'s only in the Temple of the Ancients. You can still beat Emerald in under 20 minutes. W-Summon KOTR and have everyone mime. Make sure you have Phoenix mastered at least and attached to Final Attack so you can get at least 4 Revivals. Even with my powerful characters, they still get whomped on perdy good by Emi.

If you can win the Speed Shoes (or whatever it\'s called) from those Chocobo Races or Battle Square, you will get a much better opportunity to prevent Emi from having its way with you by launching more Summons. I recommend yer KOTR to be equipped with MP Absorb...miming that keeps the magic points up too.

Emerald Weapon is easy now,  killed it in 4:42,  or with 15:18 left on the timer,  didnt use KOTR,  too slow

A:  Master alot of counter attacks,  giving Cloud  8 mastered Counter attacks will make him counter attack 8 times in a row for 80,000 damage

B:  Gravity with quadra magic does 40,000 damage

C:  4x cut with an ultimate weapon does 40,000 damage

I\'ll post my character stats and materia weapon setup later

If  you need any help,  just ask ,  I\'ve done pretty much everything,  to make a long story short

FF7 is the greatest game ever,  just the amount of people who played and like this game is incredible,  go  to almost any  website and post a FF7 topic and  you will      get positive replys almost immediatly,  even though the game is  8 years old ,  wow

And yet people still play it,  how many 8 year old games do you play?  I can\'t even remember alot of the games that came out in 97 or the 90s for that matter

That shows you this game is great,  or greatest,  the words written on the back of the case "quite possibly the greatest game ever made"  are just as true now as they were then,  I almost laugh when I see games like Half Life 2 put "could be greatest ever" on their box,  sorry,  theres only one "greatest ever"  you would expect next generation graphics etc to make games like FF7 obsolete,  one of those games that you look back on and say:  I can\'t believe I thought that game was good,  but FF7 is different,  It has longevity,  even though it is a single player RPG which are known to be good for playi]ng through 1 time and thats it,  but FF7 was different,

The developers seemed to hit everything right,  and that doesnt happen often,  its a game that you  wish would never end

I have a deranged fantasy of a MMORPG FF7,   based in the FF7 world,  something like star wars  galaxy,   I dont see why its not possible,  I mean, there will ALWAYS be Star Wars games,  why cant there always be FF7 games?

All of us who play FF7 even today want more of it,  yes,  playing throughm it again is fun,  but we want more,  a movie is great,  but to me thats not enough,

A thought just ran through my mind,  that if something identical to  FF7 was released as a movie,  instead of the game,  would it have as big of a following as Star Wars,  well ,  maybe not AS big,  but defitnly as big as the Matrix,  and would spawn titles like MATRIX: ONLINE,  so my above point is addressed,  with such a huge fan base,  where is the spinoff games?  A hour and a half CG movie just isnt enough,  for me at least

And 1 side note,  FF7 wouldn\'t be anywhere as good as it is if it werent for the musical score by Nobou Uematsu

Know what\'s funny?  years ago, i used to record FFVII CG movies to my VHS tape.  Then I edited it to another tape, and i dubbed some songs like backstreet boys on it.  I remember playing the tape i record fill with CG movies of FFVII and listening to backstreet boys "Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely."  The song and the CG movie does go together well actually.

Would have been an interesting music video...:p

I tried to do the same to FFVIII, but i don\'t think i try to add any music to the CG video of FFVIII though.

It would be cool to see FFVII being remake on PS3 and hopefully a big remake.

Of course, last but not least, the music in FFVII rocks too.  You are right, it seems like Square seems to do everything right on FFVII, from music to gameplay, and so on, etc...

How does one mime limit breaks? I had Cloud use his limit and then Barret mimed and the game said that he couldn\'t do that. Then again, Barret wasn\'t at his limit and both were on different limit levels.

Right now...I have all three at the limit and all on level 4. I\'ll try it out.

BTW...I had Cloud link MP Absorb to KOTR and HP Absorb linked to KOTR (Master). The other mimed him and none of them died since they kept getting their gauges refilled. :)

Oh and I heard of a guy who beat EMERALD in under 3 minutes,  he mimed his limit breaks I\'ll have to look it up again

He linked mime to counter. Its what I did. The only bad thing about it is when you heal it totally screws up. But Omnislash was awesome 5 times in a row lol

I just sucessfully made a green and blue chocobo, I\'m waiting until it will let me breed them so I can get a black one, but it says I can\'t breed ones that have just been born.

What crieria is the time I will be allowed to breed them based on?

X number of battles, X number of level ups, or what?

I know, don\'t ask me how I know, I just know.

Anyway, I\'ve done all that, got the gold chocobo, and then got the KOTR materia. I tried it out, but it only hits at about 5700 points per individual knight. Does it go up as the player levels increase, or as you use it? In other words, if I never use it, will it stay at that same ammount of damage per use?

Get KOTR up to at least a level 3. Go to the Nortern Cave to fight those Magic Pots. Put the KOTR in your triple or double point slots.

When Emi attacks, you get more damage per materia you hold, is what I read. When he stomps on them, Barret gets the least damage coz he\'s carrying only 6 pieces. Cloud gets down to around 3,000hp left.

However, when Emerald luanches its wings, everyone gets killed. Hopefully your Phoenix is mastered or close to it for multiple lives.

I re-picked up an old save a week ago and I was in the nortern cave today, up against the second form of sephiroth. I got my ass killed after about 5 mins (maybe less) of just struggling (after running out of phoenix downs and having the only character without a restore/life/w.e materia alive).

Pretty P.O\'ed but we\'ll see what happens later. Didnt feel like picking up the controller after that.

Any small tips?

You know those magic pots, do they steal materia?

I beat a couple, then when I checked the growth of my materia, there were some slots empty.

I don\'t remember whether they were empty before or not, so I\'m not sure if it\'s me not filling the slot, or if it was taken.

Nevermind that last post of mine, I mustn\'t of filled the empty slots to begin with.

Anyway, I woke up about 3am due to my next door neighbours cats shagging all night, and couldn\'t get to sleep, so I did some serious levelling up. I\'ve got KOTR up to level 4, I\'ve mastered Odin, Neo Bahamut, Leviathon, Phoenix, Alexander, and have got about 87000 to go to master Bahamut ZERO. On top of that, I\'ve mastered most of the green materia, I\'ve got transform, shield and contain left to master, with not much left on each.

I\'ve also mastered a lot of the yellow ones, mime has been mastered several times over. I\'m gearing up to have a pop at the weapons soon, I had an half hearted attempt at ruby a while ago with little luck, I should fare better this time.

Fucking bastard cats!!

Use Chocobo Summon or Hades on Ruby once to paralyse him. If you use it twice in a row, the second will awake him. Paralyze him, then attack with KOTR. If he wakes, Hades his ass. :)

Today I played FFVII again and I just got out of the corel prison (desert prison), I learned laser enemy skill while in there.  As soon as I got out of the prison, I learned Big Guard from the slugs on the beach.  Then came back around the prison and learned the enemy skill "Aqualung" from the chimera.

Then i head back to Junon via the ship with the buggy car with me.  I came back to get the bolt ring in the cave of the sleeping man and learned some enemy skills there such as white wind from this zemzelett bird, and I killed the midgar zolom and while I am at it, i learned the enemy skill, "Beta."

Whitewind and big guard is freakin\' awesome! Now you gotta learn Magic Hammer and the deadliest, IMO, of enemey skills: "????" spell. You gotta get it from teh Shinra mansion, tough. But that\'s later-later.

where do you get the final attack materia from?

Battle Square Arena. Do not leave the lobby or all your battle points will be erased. After winning the a few sets of battles, you should have enough to redeem it at the kiosk thing near the entrance.

Oh yes. After you first successfully beat Battle Square, the lady at teh counter will ask you if you want a Special challenge. Those are harder and the prize list will change. I think that\'s on the 2nd CD.

Well I\'m on the 4rd disk now, so I should be able to get it, but for some reason, I can\'t get the special battle.

I have omnislash and clouds ultimate weapon, but I still can\'t get in.

Just had another go at ruby, killed that bitch in 2 full turns. All it could do in reply, was slap cloud once with it\'s fingers inbetween summons.

Piece o\' piss.

Yeah, well 2 turns for each character, so 6 in all.

I w-summoned KOTR, then mimed it for 2 rounds with 1 cast of hades in the middle as you said.

Oh okay. Yeah, I used to think (way back in 97) that Ruby was the hardest coz he\'d throw two of your members out and was impervious to attacks until his claw went into teh ground. But...people figured him out, over the years, and he\'s actually easier than Emerald. :)

Yeah,  your right

Don\'t give a horrible looking game (by todays standards) a graphical face lift with who knows what extras (voice acting,  3D towns and backgrounds,  armor that shows, etc)

If your not interested then why reply?
