Title: European Constitutional law & unity : voting next week.
Post by: Knotter8 on May 27, 2005, 01:41:58 PM
All of Europes countries plus the to-become-EU countries their ppl will be able to cast their for or against one single
European constitution.

If the outcome will be YES, it\'ll mean reduced vetorights and decisions\'ll have
to be backed up by a EU majority.

There will be room though, for specific
laws & rights which each EU country has right now.

Personally, I\'ll be voting Yes. A European Union will make a stronger forceand we\'ve already come so far with the Euro currency.

Not that I have a say, but if I did, I too would vote yes.

I would probably vote yes too. Too bad our PM had decided not to let us vote (but probably smart considering how Anti-EU we Swedes are. If one country says No the whole thing falls, correct?). :|

I believe so. However, referendums in each country will anyhow spark the EU union discussion amongst citizens of the countries.

Imho, devided-ness is the least we can use in the future. Some countries have fairly extreme nationalist parties (in minority though), but we wouldn\'t like them to grow any further. A European Union would help minimize such forces within those countries.
