Post by: MPTheory on June 03, 2005, 12:15:26 PM

One thing I would do is on the mouseovers on the buttons, you see the square from the edges of the flare on the outside.  I would probably give a real soft edge so it looks like the flare goes on rather than stops at the square of the button.

And I couldn\'t get the Anal Pics link to work.  ;)

Very nice logo design. I\'m not too sure about those red ribbon linings though....

The concept design works very well for her imo. Keep up the good work ! :)

thanks for the input so far.  I definately need to change the links at the top.  I was kind of rushing to get a basic concept down. Its not live or anything.  Here is, what is going to be, the intro:

you may have to refresh after it has played thru once.  I havent put a preloader on it yet.

BTW paul2: its my sister

Intro is fine, but again, the edge cuts it off.  The particles get cut off on the last fall by the edge.  It just seems like if you are doing black on black you shouldn\'t see a seam.

I am amaze at how you do the special effect particles.  How did you do that?  Wish I could do that too.

the intro I did in after effects. Its a cool program.  Kind of like photoshop for video to quote juslight.

BTW: vid, The intro is done at 800 x 600. so for some it will fill the full screen.  I know that most people now have higher screen res, but its a hard habbit to break by going to a higher screen res.  probably in another year or two

how long does it take you to do special effects like that?

Because I was pondering how do people do that?  They must have been a computer genius or something because i don\'t know how to do those stuffs.

I made a home video and I been trying to do effects kind of like you where I can rotate some objects and make particle fly nicely and do a transformation from this character change to another.

Changing character is easy to me as all I need to do is put character A on the same background with the camara on the tripod on the same spot without chaning the camera position.

Then after person A make a spin, person A leave the scene and I put person B on the same spot where person A used to be and make that person spin too.  When I do the editing, I overlap them with transition and it looks like that person just transform to another person.  But i still am clueless on how to make special effects similiar to your for added magic special effects.

awesome job. :)  You\'re really good at those stringy designs.

Only suggestion is the main header needs some contrast.  Bring out the "Day" more with a lighter bg (maybe a lens flare?) around the letters.

But overall it\'s a very clean & stylish site.

thanks for the comments.  after looking at the nav last night trying to figure out how I can change it, im going to just do the navigation in flash instead of AE and then bring it into flash. (with the exception of the glowing BG)

The intro took me about 8 hours to refine the concept and actually make it work.  of course, now that Ive done it already, I could probably redo the entire thing in about 2 hours, maybe less. Its really not all that amazing or anything.  any seasoned AE user would probably see it as amateur. Its kind of like using the filters in Adobe... Maybe a little more complicated, but not much.

Hey Paul, got to the Adobe website and download the 30 day trial of After effects.  You have full use of the program and can save and export.

Yeah,

I seen the after effects demonstration video clip in adobe website and was quite in awe with how many different things can actually be done.  I am going to check it out sometimes later.

doh, well the same flare that he\'s using for the button rollovers would suffice :)
