I got the DELL pocket DJ. I chose it over an Ipod because I heard of the extremely poor customer service and everyone I know that has one has had one break on them. So far Im pretty impressed. When I installed the software it searched my whole computer for songs and put it in a library for me and it didnt take long at all. The interface is easy to use to the only thing I cant stand are these big ass ear phones that go inside the ear. But thats easy to fix.
-
should have gone creative zen micro, but at least you didnt get a gay ipod
-
*strokes my ipod*
It\'s ok Ipod, that mean nasty man doesn\'t know what he is talking about.
-
Only thing gayer than arguing over consoles is arguing over mp3 players. they all do the same damn thing.
but anyway, nice mp3 player. a co-worker has the same one and it\'s not bad.
-
Jumps on creative bandwagon, no wait, that\'ll be to mtv.
-
they all do the same damn thing.
really? didn\'t know ipod\'s can now listen to FM radio and play wma\'s
soully, please don\'t hate cause you can\'t afford one. i guess the car i drive or the shoes i wear are "bandwagon" too
:stick:
-
I\'ll take my cheap-o Rio mp3 player anyday over an iPod. I paid so much less, it does the same damn thing, plus its a lot smaller.

I guess the same way Zens can connect to aftermarket head units so I can control & recharge it from my receiver and view the song/artist/album on the radio\'s display. :p
It\'s all relative, you can\'t say one brand sucks though. Just though it was funny if you like one brand you have to hate another.
-
I like my Ipod cause it looks the coolest. Sue me.,
(although yesterday the click wheel stopped working LOL)
-
Sony AtracPlus ! :D

Why in the flying fuck would I want to listen to FM radio on my MP3 player? And it takes like 3 seconds to convert wma to a useable format.

hmmm, perhaps you\'de like to listen to the afternoon ballgame while sitting at work for one...
ipods are for the ignorant masses (and girls)

I am not a big ipod fan,(I feel they are an overpriced fade), but I don\'t have anything againt them.
pods are for the ignorant masses (and girls)
If so, what do you suggest for HD based Mp3 player?

I haven\'t bought an MP3 player yet, but the Zen Micro does look pretty nice. Sony\'s new MP3 player looks pretty awesome too. I\'m considering both of them at the moment. Plus, the battery life on Sony\'s new MP3 player is about 10 times longer than the crappy battery that Apple supplies its customers with. I think the battery life for Sony\'s player is somewhere around 40 hours or so.

i really dig the Creative Zen micro. A coworker at my old job got the black one and it looked pretty slick. I\'d probably get one of those over an ipod, just because it seems like everyones got one of those.
-
The Zen Micro is pretty nice. I agree that the black one looks slick. I like how you can partition the MP3 player to use as storage for any files on your computer. You can carry around important data like homework or something and still use it as a music player. That\'s cool. :D

I don\'t work on weekends and that\'s when football happens.
I hope no one listens to baseball on the radio. Oye.

Sounds like the most boring thing to do on the planet.

I do think iPods are for the no-brainer crowd. Anyone who couldn\'t be bothered to do a product comparison or weigh the relative features and reliability reviews... that person probably just bought an iPod like everyone else. Maybe not a bad choice for that person, but not for me. I also read reviews of the Creative products indicating they have possibly worse than expected defect and reliability issues.
I bought an iRiver H340 about 4 months ago, and it\'s been pretty awesome. It has a 40 gig HD, and color display. If you flash it to the most current Korean firmware, you can play very long videos on the tiny screen. Of course it also displays jpeg images, but I\'m not sure why you\'d want to do that. It has a built-in FM tuner, and a line-in jack for recording live stereo audio in mp3 format. It instantly connects to any Win2K or XP machine using USB 2.0 as an external HD for file storage or backup (no special applet required). Supports file formats MP3, WMA, ASF, and OGG.
So far, battery life and reliability have been outstanding. The unit survived a couple shocks with no ill effects, and it appears to be built very sturdy. I\'m hoping for great longevity. The stock earbuds are of course almost worthless, so I did purchase a set of Shure E3C earphones that are a massive improvement. Normally I listen to the iRiver while driving. It connects to my stock headunit through a PIE auxiliary input adapter. I strongly recommend iRiver products, including their cheaper models.

Yet you trust apple who supplyed fautly batteries with the first wave of Ipods.
Antoher thing Jumpman I have owned many Iriver Mp3 players (non HDD based) and without a doubt I would not hesitate to buy another one of there products. Iriver to me has proven to be a powerful player in portable media, they offer soild products with many features, that there competitors lack, and managed to sell for some of the most competitive prices I have seen. Plus all the units I have owned by them still work to this day after droping them a millions times. Good quality(DAC)sound from them etc...
IRIVER IS SAFE!

SO ID IPOD LOLOL
-
Yeah but it\'s overpriced. Then again so is everything apples makes. You pay the premium for the supposive elitness of apple.
Plus don\'t you agree that people are starting to get turned off By IPOD, since everyone has one, sort of like when a new Fashion Designer comes out you see everyone wearing the same pants. I must give apple credit, they are marketing genius.

Yea same here. I also have a Zen micro and an iPod Shuffle.
+1 for trendy bullshit.

If I may ask, why do you own so many HD players. (minus the shuffle)

Impulse purchases.
The shuffle is practical in certain situations.
