I have playstation 2 playing a playstation 1 game. When I go to save it tells me that the memory card isn\'t inserted? I don\'t understand. Do I have to have a playstation 1 memory card. I have magic gate sony 8MB memory card?

ps2 support both PSOne and PS2 memory cards.
But remember this: PSOne games only recognize PSOne memory card.
Same with PS2 games, they only recognize ps2 memory card.
So, if you have a ps2 memory card, get a psOne memory card to save your psOne games.
I agree its kinda suck, hopefully they somehow make ps3 memory card works on all ps games. That would be nice.

It\'s possible the third party memory card is not following the standards used by Sony for it to be read by both PS2 Slim and the original PS2 console. Get a Mad Katz memory card instead.

Taking it back to the store sounds like a good idea. Remember to get a better memory card. Just to be safe, get a Sony brand memory card.
