Can I change a HD over to NTFS without reformatting?

Beware there can be minor side effects after doing the conversion, primarily in sharing files over a network.

If you can, consider throwing in a second HD, copy all the files, and reformat from scratch.

i\'ve always believed in magic

but i\'d never convert file formats like that.. i\'m one to format and do it the "right" way

do not convert it

delete partition, and make a new one
then format

Yeah.  It turns out I got around the file size issue I had.  Good to know though.

You can go from FAT32 to NTFS without reformatting, but not the other way.

yea, i also recommend a format rather then convert.  But u don\'t need to create a new partition to do it.
