I know there are a lot of classic movies which I have yet to see - do you have a personal top 10 (or top 20, 30, 50) that you wouldn\'t mind sharing?
When I say classic movies I mean movies that are considered to be amongst the best ever made. Thanks.
Note: Other people are welcome to contribute as well, but I doubt very many of you could name the movies I\'m after. Well I know a few of you could, so don\'t be shy. :D

Um...
Casablanca
The Godfather (all of them :D)
One Flew Over The Cuckoo\'s Nest
Raging Bull (great movie)
I can\'t think of jack crap right now.
-
Assablanca
Twat Shot 4
classics
-
Soul Plane
Wild Wild West
Fat Slags
-
City of God
-
Bullit
-
Joker + Black Sam = next Ebert & Roeper
Citizen Kane is considered by many film dorks to be the best film ever made. It was ahead of its time in all the cuts, pans, and other editing innovations it made. "News.... ON THE MARCH!!"
I like films that are more down to earth though. Ninotchka with Greta Garbo is a cheeky romane film that\'s surprisingly entertaining. Who\'s gay?

domestic or can they be foreign as well?
the AFI list is pretty encompassing

although, my favorite all time film is "buono, il brutto, il cattivo, il"
know to most as "the good, the bad, and the ugly"

Which is better, "Wages of Fear" or "Sorcerer" ?
I am a big fan of William Friedkin, so it\'s really hard for me to decide. The French Connection is one of my all time favorites, and I have a soft spot for "To Live and Die in LA," despite all it\'s faults. :)

Criterion of it is worth getting. I enjoy mine at least.
"To Live and Die in La" is a good flick to.
-
Sorcerer was just a remake of wages of fear.
can\'t even compare the two, but i liked it just cause Roy Scheider was in it

Oh yeah thats one of my favourite :)
-
I\'ve always heard about that movie, but I\'ve yet to see it. I\'ll rent it next time I\'m at Hollywood Video or something.
-
Hey mm and LiC, what did you guys think of Ran and/or Twilight Samurai?
-
I watched two good movies today.
A Clockwork Orange
American History X
I reccomend Full Metal Jacket, cant think of anything atm.
-
Full Metal Jacket...that movie can get pretty f^cked up. American History X is one of my favs. Plus Edward Norton is the man.
-
Ran is well worth the watch
and if you really appreciate samurai films, find a copy of samurai fiction

I\'ve seen most if not all classic American movies, so I was thinking of foreign movies. I\'ll take a look at the list, it seems pretty similar to the IMDB top movies.

I\'ve seen most of those, but I\'ll check out the ones that I haven\'t.
I\'ve made a list of directors whose work I want to watch closely. For anyone interested, the list is:
Renoir, Ozu, Kurosawa, Mizoguchi, Truffaut, Bergman, Tarkovsky, Bunuel, Bresson, Pasolini, Paradjanow, Antonioni, Fellini, Kieslowsky, Eisenstein and Polanski.
EDIT: How could I forget my fellow Dane, Carl Th. Dreyer. :)
Oh and LOL @ THX.
