I didn\'t read the link either, but I would guess it is some RPG mode ala Tobal NO 1.

I think it\'s explained better in the article, but basically the gameplay mode is linked to the fighter you make.  So first you pick a gender, and then you choose an occupation, and that determines your weapon and moveset.
