Whoah 27 titles

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Bethesda)
If this was not comin\' out for the PC, it would be a must have title. Eagerly awaiting this one.
-
that\'s alot of ports
-
Yeah true but putting that aside I am glad about the price of the games.Initial price of $60 as the highest, sounds pretty good considering the past estimations of $60-80.So hopefully the same will count for PS3
If I am not mistaken thats how much games costed on PS2 when it launched in Japan. So it seems normal.
edit: Just noticed prices arent fixed yet.
-
yep, port city... "hugs pc"
-
fuck pc
doa
madden
nba live
PD0
Those are the 4 I will be looking forward to owning @launch
I seen the full auto video looks interesting. I have to give that one another look in the coming months. Go sega

Why would anyone be surprised, it was common knowledge that the 360 Launch titles would be nothing steller other than maybe 2 titles. In order for a dev to create a AAA title, it\'s gonna take them time to learn how to utilize the 360. This is why I prefer to wait for 2 second generation games, beofre I make any purchase for next gen consoles.

Not that I\'m expecting PS3 or Revolutions launch to be any better. (Hopefully, this will keep NVIDIA, LIC, and or Rikku from chewing me out)
Kind of shows where games are going, down the path of Hollywood. Sequels galore. It\'s also a dead end path if you ask me
-
Yeah but look at everyone. "Oooh Gran Turismo 4!" "Tekken 6!" "Soul Calibur 3!"
This shit sells.
And those are just titles I\'ve lifted from memory out of Main Forum recently.
Me, I\'m more excited about King Kong, Indigo Prophecy and Shadow of the Colossus.
But you can only change a trend by voicing your opinions through money...

What do you think is selling on current systems now? Sequels sequels...sequels.
Oh and I hope top spin 2 kicks ass
-
You know... I think Im going to have an XBOX 360 before I get my PS3
those titles really appeal to me, despite the fact they are PC games. I love PC games, but for $300 that is awesome.
DOA4, Elder Scrolls (hell yes), NBA Live 06, Perfect Dark, and Call of Duty 2
5 games I just cant wait for
gotta say that MS has a killer launch

I dont mind sequels for some specific titles. As long as developers arent overdoing it.
examples: 3 Silent Hills on PS2, 3 Final Fantasies on PS1, 3 Final Fantasies on PS2, 2 SC\'s on PS2, 4 Burnout games on PS2 etc.
Bleh. These franchises are losing from their original glory thanks to many sequels appearing in a short period of time.Next time we learn about a sequel for these games there is no excitement at all.
-
Dead wrong on the two SC\'s. You can\'t say Namco is overdoing it by making two games of one franchise for one system, within this generation. If that is the case, there would be NO SEQUELS. I\'ll give you the rest tho\'!
-
I just noticed the games are $60
Why?

I personally see that way judging from the franchise\'s past history. There was only one on PS1 as Soul Edge, one on DC,(only one for each gen) and now 2 on PS2.I was expecting the next Soul Calibur to appear on next gen consoles.
Usually each Soul Calibur was the fighting game people were expecting to see in each generation as the pinnacle of art direction and gameplay of fighting games exploiting the hardware\'s true capabilities.
Untill SC2 thats what it was.But with SC3 appearing on the same aging console again IMO the franchise is weakened.
ps:For a sequel to exist it doesnt need to be released on the same console in the same generation, does it?

Price hike on games. Not terribly surprising. I know Sony is doing the same but I\'m not sure about the big N.

No it doesn\'t, but on the same note, given industry standards, I don\'t think Namco is really overdoing it with the SC games. Would it have been nice to see SC3 take advantage of new hardware? Yes! But are they overdoing it? No, not really. My only complaint is that it isn\'t on the Xbox, which was the best lookin\' of the last bunch.
-
Well.Thats just me on SC2 and 3 then.I was expecting Namco to develop SC3 for a next gen console with all the ideas they have now compined with the possibilities better hardware offers than a SC with few improvements on the fighting system on PS2.
No wow factor
-
Looks promising, but I\'ve pretty much sold my soul to Sony.

Will this price be around just for the first few months of a system launch or will it stay that way?
This seems like just another reason for me to keep buying 2-3 console games a year. Why does EA launch Madden and pretty much every other game on PC 30+% cheaper?
-
Yea it\'ll stick. Some games will still be cheap, but the good ones will cost a lot.
From the Xbox lineup, I\'m interested in King Kong and right now, Gun.
Don\'t know anything about Elder Scrolls, though. Maybe that\'d be a new experience for me.
-
That launch line up looks pretty good, but I doubt 1/2 of those titles will be ready for launch, and a few of them will probably see major delays.
-
Interested in PD and Burnout only. The PC games are best played with a mouse. Still nice to see a big variety for a launch.

So you would clasify the new Zelda game also as another "not again title", correct?
;)

I cant comment on Zelda games since I dont own a GC.

What does that have to do with anything? It\'s the same thing. A sequel after a previous game in this same generation. It has nothing to do with the gameplay or owning a console or not.. You don\'t own an Xbox 360, but you commented on it.
-
The example of XBOX360 isnt the same since nobody owns it.So everyone is estimating not commenting on first hand experience.
I cant comment on something I have no experience on while others have.
Whats your opinion though? Is Zelda an example similar to Final Fantasy?
-
The cool thing with Zelda is they try to reinvent themselves every time.
That\'s the difference between a new Zelda game and Mario Party 10 or whatever. Pokemon Lime-Green and Pokemon Lemon-Lime. Harvest Moon: It\'s a Really Good Farm Life This Time. Tom Clancy\'s Shooting At Arabs. Tony Hawk\'s 15 Minutes of Fame 7. The Sims: Cashing In, Madden Infinity and the less popular Generic Shooter X which might as well be one never ending series.
Hmm.

on consoles you have to pay royalties (not sure if this is the correct term) to the console manufacturer...
-
In countries were tax is almost zero for products I know that you can get PAL games (i dont know about NTSC) for current consoles at half the price.
I think console games are more expensive thanks to taxes as well.

A sequel is a sequel. No matter the franchise.
-
Ok then.You answered your question
