I work in IT, so I\'m not a complete retard. I also realize that this opens me up for comments from the peanut gallery...
Anyway, this is my work PC. Acer tablet, travelmate c300, xp pro, 512 ram, 1.5 GHz.
The mouse cursor jumps down to the sys tray all the damn time. And it clicks, too. So if I leave for awhile, I\'ll come back to the date/time window, lan status window, etc. The cursor also jumps to the start button, but not as often as the sys tray.
I completely removed the pointing devices from the reg and let them reinstall. No luck. Clean a/v scan, no spyware that I can find. I could post my hijack this log, but I hate it when people do that. It gives me bogus results when I try to google specific processes. I honestly don\'t think this is a spyware issue.
The cursor is erratic in safe mode as well. Happens whether I have my usb mouse plugged in or not.
Any ideas?

sounds like a dodgy touchpad, seem it before on notebooks i\'ve fixed
disable it completely and see if problems remains

HMM we had the same exact problem you wouldnt happen to be using a little cheap mouse I dont rember what brand we started off with but we ended up buying microsoft mini mouses infrared and havent had a problem since.
same notebooks all 8 of them were doing the same thing.

I have the exact same thing happen to me, as described in this thread (http://www.psx2central.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=36857)

The cheese worked! Though it responded better to imported than domestic.
I am indeed using a cheapo logitech usb wheelmouse. It\'s not even optical. Disabling touch pad seemed to work for awhile, but may have been coincidental since the cursor started to go erotic again while touchpad was still disabled.
I\'ll remove the cheapo mouse from the reg again and try getting by with just the touchpad for awhile.

Save up for a non crappy mouse. :thumb:
-
we switched to the mini microsoft opical for 24 bucks and no problems since...
-
damnit, I read erratic as erotic somehow. damn you sara!
