I\'m planning on buying a leadtek geforce 6800LE (128MB) and I need your thoughts on this card to justify the purchase ;)

my other hardware includes:
pentium4 3Gh
512MB of ram
asus p5p800 motherboard

any help or advice would be appreciated :)

Given the state of gaming right now, I\'d only get the 6800LE if you\'re somewhat strapped for cash.

It\'s actually slower than the 6800.. at times much slower.. so it\'s not really as future-proof as I\'d like.

Of course, I\'m waiting for Quake IV. What do you play?

I\'m definitely strapped for cash ;)

fortunately I\'m not that demanding on performance, I just want to be able to play current generation games with decent settings...

I\'m currently playing Rome: total war which is awesome if it weren\'t for my crappy geforce fx5200 holding me down ;)

I\'ve seen quite some ppl choose the 6600GT over the 6800LE.

Look up reviews to see how they compare at AA settings.

That\'s what I was going to suggest.

Look at the 6600GT, look at the 6800. Shop around.

If you\'re not demanding.. the 6800LE is fine. I just know that with the 7800 series out now.. prices are rapidly falling and you might be able to grab a 6800GT for a similar price within months..

.. or the 6600GT in SLI. Got a PCI-E motherboard?

I have that exact same card (Leadtek 6800le).

I\'ve unlocked all the shaders/pipes and run it overclocked from 300/700 to 380/870-ish. It\'s a nice card if you\'re strapped for cash. However, cheap 6800\'s might be in the same price range.

i\'m running a overcloced 6600GT  550/1000 and it does exactly what i want it to do. I\'ll update to a Amd 64 / NF4 setup soon and i\'ll be happy for alittle while.
