Title: VMAs
Post by: Eiksirf on August 29, 2005, 07:41:40 AM
Anybody watch? MC Hammer should totally make a comeback, heh.

I dunno, it was decent. There were a couple segments without hiphop which was unexpected.

Some cool concert moments. Kelly Clarkson from American Idol closed the show with a decent performance which surprised me.

She had 5 times the energy and presence of 50 cent...

(Not neccesarily a hard thing to do, heh)

Kelly Clarkson has made fans of her haters. That\'s saying something.

True enough. Heh, and I just remembered they\'re teasing the return of Beavis and Butthead.

I would start watching MTV again. Especially if they kept the old format where you could see some obscure videos and stuff.

The commercials with Beavis and Butthead cracked me up. It\'s the most stupid, base level humor, but it\'s awesome.

Not true. Infact, as much as I hate her, I dislike her even more now. She has a decent voice - but she didn\'t use it. Instead, she just went with screaming and cussing.

I dunno. Mariah Carey used her voice (and legs). This kid went out there and got into it. She had real emotion. I\'ll take that over just a good voice any day.

(Unless the legs come with the voice.)

John Legend got fucking robbed by a sorry ass Alicia Keys video.  I caught that when back at my dads house other than that I stopped watching those in 8th grade.

Don\'t be a dick. That was the most down to earth thing I heard the whole show.

Their cd really isn\'t that bad, some catchy tunes, but god are they horrible live. Just downright pathetic.

Her solo cd sucks, but she sure is nice to stare at. Love see\'ing her in the cheerleader outfit.

I can\'t believe anyone over the age of 12 with a penis would watch MTV.  Also what\'s up with the whiteys shooting each other?

i like pimp my ride, i think xzibit is funny and it\'s like the most casual show ever. No votes, no competitions, the most uneventful but positive reality of all time!

I thought the VMA\'s looked cool, the water theme was a neat idea for eye candy. The music, obviously, blew spikey nuts into my asshole. Few points-

-Kelly Clarkson sucks. She\'s like Ashlee Simpson except she can sing decently, both try and fail miserably at being punk or hard rock. You\'re pop, live with the shame.
-Green Day winning everything was good, they are actually a pretty good band.
-Gwen Stefani is hawt, and her music is decent.
-When MC Hammer is the best part of the show, you know it\'s nothing spectacular. Dear god why do I force myself to watch it every year. :(

I don\'t have cable so I have no MTV. And I don\'t even have a decent reception for the antenna so I can\'t watch free TV either, except PBS...which is a lot better than MTV, especially when they show documentaries about snakes and other predators. :D

Have you been listening to Greenday lately!??!!??!  I mean I\'ll give people their opinions but theirs no possible way you can seriously like Billy Joe\'s terrible singing on top of an even worse song.

No, it\'s one of my favorite cd\'s of 2004 and has stayed in my cd changer right up to now.  Gwen rocks on her own as much as she does with her band, No Doubt.

Haha yea I saw that. That cracked me up, heh.

I grew up with Greenday, even if Billy whatshisname does suck it up on a live vocal sometimes, the CDs rock and they\'re shows rock.

I didn\'t like R. Kelly\'s song. He lip synched which was silly cuz he wasn\'t moving around hardly. And tho the song was cool at points, it dragged on.

Old Greenday was good. Don\'t care for new. And while I do agree the lip-synchin\' part was gay, I still think the song was cool.

Well......the VMA\'s aired here in Holland yesterday and it was ok.

Diddy hosted the show and did a decent job.I always hope that they let someone like Chris Rock or Dave Chapelle host the show. They would probably insult the artists and that always makes for good television. The only funny thing that came from Diddy was the "evolution of his name" skit.

Kelly Clarkson\'s performance was terrible.Sure she has the energy but what good is that if you can\'t sing properly. She has a good voice(because she won American Idol) but when she screams you can\'t really tell.

Green Day is great.I rocked out on Green Day when I was 13 with Dookie.I haven\'t really been listening to them since but I rock out on them again with American Idiot.

American Idiot is great. The songs are great, stucture is good, theme is meaningfull. The performance on the VMA\'s was not so good however I know that they can do much better live.

I saw them on MTV\'s storytellers live and they were great. They have an extra bassist/guitar player live and all the songs sounded exactly like they do on the record.

Coldplay\'s performance was surprisingly weak.Chris Martin\'s voice was no good. This is strange because everytime I see them live on t.v they are amazing.Maybe they were drained from touring.
