I know I am probably EXTREMELY late on this one but I just saw the DVD and I loved it. Great story and characters with a twist that I REALLY didn\'t see coming. It had some very violent scenes and lots of blood. I was actually cringing during one scene with a clawhammer that was a bit TOO realistic (I actually don\'t know that it wasn\'t real).

Has anyone else seen this? What did you think?

BTW, It seems like all of the best movies are coming out of asia. Netflix has put me on to a lot of asian films that I never would have seen otherwise. Movies that would be classics had they been released in the states. It must be something in the water because they have us beat in almost every aspect of moviemaking.

Seriously tho\', both are great films. I also recommend \'Ichi the Killer\', if you want to see something wacky and off the wall.

I rented Audition and man....that was twisted! Talk about a freakin\' U-turn of events! :eek:

I saw Audition a few years back.

Definitely a big turn of events. One moment it\'s a quasi-Lost in Translation romantic comedy.. and then.. well.. I won\'t spoil it.

I had to watch "Babe" after seeing Audition. Yeah, the lil happy pig movie.

Suicide Club was..meh..Decent at best.

I also recommend checkin\' out the first Battle Royale, but for the love of God, skip out on the sequel. Just terrible.

The newest Zatoichi is also good. Oh and Samurai Fiction...and uhm...Lady Snowblood.

hated the new zatoichi
dont get me wrong, takeshi rocks me, but all the CG blood was lame

i\'m a huge fan of the original series, that it\'s impossible for the remake to come close

I will agree that the CG blood was terrible and there is nothing that can take the place of the original series (I need to finish my collection of those!). It was still a decent film tho\'.

Samurai Fiction just rocks. No doubt about it.

I liked the shocking revelation in Old Boy but the ending confused me...

Infernal Affairs was pretty cool but the HK movie industry sucks ass and this movie could\'ve been done better...

Ichi the Killer is the wackiest movie in recent memory and that wasn\'t a good thing for me...

I just watched Kairo last night and I almost fell asleep...

Chinese Odyssey starts out pretty amusing but drags. Another reason why the HK movie industry sucks ass...

Ju On: The Grudge 2 is still the best horror movie I\'ve seen, thus far...

My friend told me that I couldn\'t dare call myself Korean if I missed Old Boy. He locked me in his house and forced me to sit through a version with Korean subtitles... which I couldn\'t read very well. But I got the gist of it, and it kicks fucking ass.

If you\'re into Korean films, also check out Tae Guk Gi: Brotherhood of War, Shiri, My Sassy Girl, and Joint Security Area. These are the mainstream movies though... it\'s my humble opinion that the quiet niche Asian movies are the ones that gently lodge themselves into your brain.
