Rush- Motion Pictures, 2112
Radiohead- OK Computer
NIN- Downward Spiral

Albums that have found their way into my cd players over the years...

Jagged Little Pill - Alanis Morissette
Tragic Kingdom - No Doubt
Garbage - Garbage
Version 2.0 - Garbage
Antichrist Superstar - Marilyn Manson
Haunted - Poe

I\'m not sure yet, as they\'re relatively new albums, but I think Gwen Stefani\'s "Love. Angel. Music. Baby.", Tracy Bonham\'s "Blink the Brightest", Maroon 5\'s "Songs about Jane", and Garbage\'s "Bleed Like Me" will also get heavy rotation from me over the years.

You\'re obviously listening to the wrong 80\'s. There was a lot of stand out bands from the 80\'s that people are just now apperciating..

I think it\'s save to say that Rikku has the worst....musical taste........ever.    :)

I mean I have some of the albums you listed on my computer but these are by no means timeless.Only album worth listening to out of that list is MM - Antichrist Superstar.

I\'m just being honest.  I\'m a pop music whore, which accounts for most of my music collection, and those are the cd\'s that I find myself listening to.  I bought Jagged Little Pill and Garbage back in \'95 and today they don\'t seem the least bit dated to me, and that goes for the other few albums I listed.  No shame, and no apologies.:)

Fuck them both.  That\'s my suggestion as there\'s nothing to argue when it comes to personal preferences of music.

The only hip-hop album I will list.

Californication was definetly a good pick- although so overplayed, its still real good music.

Hmmm, I think \'Scarlet\'s Walk\' is her best work with \'Little Earthquakes\' being pretty close.  I\'m not a big fan of hers or anything though, especially ever since I went to a concert of hers and almost died from boredom.

WTF????????????????????????

1: How can anyone think Scarlets Walk is her best album? It is as adult pop as one can get. She dosen\'t even come close to making that album enjoyable. Infact, I\'d say it is the single worst material since \'Y KAN\'T TORI READ\'. The only reedemable songs on \'Scarlets Walk\' are "Amber Waves" and " A Sorta Fairytale" and the latter is much better piano only.

2: Died of boredom?!?!? She puts on a great show. I got to see her this past August 13th and I\'d say it was one of the most amazing shows.

However, I\'m a diehard Tori fan and have been since I first heard "Silent all these Years".

I did admit I\'m into pop music so me liking \'Scarlet\'s Walk\' makes sense, no?

The concert consisted of songs I wasn\'t familiar with, and I had gone with the expectations to hear all her radio hits.  She did perform \'Crucify\' but I was hoping for \'Sorta Fairytale\', \'Silent All these Years\', \'Strange Little Girl\', et al.

@ Halberto...I like that list. :) Although OK Computer kind of bugs the crap out of me now, except for a few songs.

Regardless, Korn still sucks.

I thought the list was a "list the albums that will never die - as far as you are concerned".

Otherwise, he could just head over to RollingStone.com and find out the most memorable albums evarrrrrrr. Supposedly.

Stone Roses - S/T

Rolling Stones -Exile on Main Street

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks...

Sgt Pepper (of course)

And, yeah Arguing about tori amos is very gay.

"albums that will never die" has to have a majority agreement.

ex.

Michael Jackson\'s thriller

this album will be listened to by billions for decades to come, while Korn entered the closet some time ago.

Good point, MM.

That said.. I notice a lot of Radiohead\'s OK Computer on here.

It\'s a good example of what MM means. IMO, The Bends is a better album.. but is it more timeless than OK Computer?

radiohead is a grat band, but they will be like the rest of the emo alternative stuff in a few years

Their new album sucked balls and sounds like a cheap imitation of them with none of the attitude that made definitely maybe worth listening to.

Actually Oasis just released a new album that\'s getting great response.

It\'s called "Don\'t Believe The Truth"

They seem to be more at ease as a band.I saw an interview with them and it seems that they let the arrogance and cockyness behind wich is a good thing.

Check out the song "The importance of being Idle"

the arrogance was the only thing they had going for them.

You\'ve said that twice already. No I didn\'t miss the point. I\'m not the one who listed KoRn as having an album that will never die. I was just commenting on it and I commented because I still think that\'s one of their best albums. And I didn\'t know there was a limit to how old the band needs to be. KoRn has been out for over a decade, but I don\'t think any of their albums, with the style that they have, will stay alive a long time from now. Kind of sucks though that Brian "Head" Welch left the band because he became Christian and that their music was too..."evil" ...or something...I guess. Now he\'s pursuing the kind of music that fits his religion. Bah...

Uh...just did a search...I think this is his new band site: http://www.headtochrist.com

Radiohead has been changing their sound for years. Amnesiac sounds like f^cked up, weird techno or something.

Radiohead has gone to lengths to make sure that they aren\'t seen as "emo"..

The Bends is somewhat emo and certainly 90\'s alternative, but moving on to Kid A and Amnesiac.. quite far off. More like a mysterious Pink Floyd-esque outfit.

Rush is regarded as a defining band in history. They have been belting out amazing records before you were born.

Dont even compare Korn to Rush.

Anyone with any musical knowledge in their head would agree, liking Rush\'s music or not- at least appreciate them for setting a new standard in music.

I don\'t think they\'ve gone to great lengths to prove anything, they\'ve just done it.

But mm is somewhat correct, as far as mainstream goes, RH is already forgotten. But they\'ll always be a cult favorite.

Bob: "They\'ve just done it"

I think that the band genuinely despises the idea of being holed up in one genre or sub-genre. They\'re proven versatile over the years, and I\'m sure it didn\'t "just happen"...

Maybe you\'re right, because some bands you just have to get used to their sound and then you fall in love with them. And there are bands out there that match that description that even if you don\'t like them you should respect them. So whatever.

Korn though, believe it or not, has been applauded by some classical music composers.

Im not sure if those composers have just bad taste in music- or they have been smoking too much crack- but they suck.

Korn is just another nu-metal band. Blah.

My point was that I don\'t think they\'re intentions behind their musical sound wasn\'t "Hey, they think we\'re emo, so we better change our style".
