That\'s actually a small praying mantis. The largest ones can get up to a foot in length...and they eat birds and frogs and whatnot. The Praying Mantis is a very cool insect.

Yeah.When I was around 5 years old in Oman I found one that was probably around 15cm long(probably it was smaller though.Things looked bigger when I was a kid).Anyways I was living in a compound and the place was full of hummingbirds but I ve never seen a praying mantis catching one.

That\'s what is known as having eyes that are bigger than your belly.

How is it going to eat it all? I get mental pictured of a humming bird shaped whatever-it\'s-called insect... sort of like a snake that swallows a pig whole, only in insect form.

Can you imagine if there were 20 foot tall Mantises roaming the country?  They could snatch up and consume humans with no problem.  It would be just like "Starship Troopers."
