Title: Roberts: Yay Or Nay?
Post by: Jumpman on September 14, 2005, 09:27:42 AM
The guy seems pretty sharp and what a judge should be : unbiased and incorruptable. Past record and all that shit looks good too.

Opinions, thoughts, bananas?

yes, a house though.  I don\'t go out much.  I seen pictures of him recently but still, I voted No.  He look good on the outside, but I don\'t know who he\'s really on the inside.  Image ain\'t everything and even though i don\'t know him, I still voted no.  Again, its just me because I just bite my hand again because I got so frustrated and angry when I was having a conversation with my mother about something little this morning.

Nothing wrong with this guy.  I find this whole process idiotic though - Senators asking idiotic questions and such.

Yay. The rumor that he turned down Stanford Law because the interviewer wore sandles kinda makes him sound he\'s got a worm lodged up there. But I have to admit he has a formidable intellect, and he speaks like a pragmatist, so hopefully he won\'t lean unfavorably conservative. His coherent rhetoric is what heally has me sold on a superficial level at this point... I heard him one day on NPR... he truly made me appreciate a sensible grip on the English language. The fact that he was on right after Bush may have accentuated his awesomeness though.

He seems a bit too conservative for me personally but I\'m sure he would be a decent judge.

Isn\'t the Supreme court full of liberals anyway? ARen\'t they the ones who decided not to say God in the pledge? We need someone in there to balance it out
